Lots of people at the AGM. Usual suspects of PR people, board members, Airport employees, etc.
Good presentation but the questions were a little boring and off topic.
First out of the gate for Q's was Jaohn Schmal who discussed the plight of McCall Lake golfers. Basically Schmal wants the CAA to scuttle the McCall Lake redevelopment plans over safety concerns from the airport.
Other notables include the infamous Oscar Fech, got up two occasions to ramble on about whatever.
There was a commenter that went on about international terminal presenting challenges for the blind. Another person lamented the huge rent increase for YBW based aircraft.
I asked a question about what the CAA is doing to secure a flight to PEK. Response from CEO Atkinson was usual stuff about how china is top priority for CAA, obstacle to PEK is slots. New information is that CAA estimates there are 50 people per day going from YYC to PEK/china, CAA is sending delegation to china once per quarter to speak with Chinese airlines. They are also I working on other airlines, but would not mention AC by name. New route not expected for a few years.
Other items, the new runway unveil event will be announced April 23rd.
