Excuse my ignorance if this has been answered before, but does anyone know what will happen to the McDonalds? Will that be re-developed or stay as McDonalds?

eventually but i think mcdonalds wants to hold on as long as they can, that drive thru is always busy especially when the bars close and seeing how the city won't let them open a new drive thru in the city they can't be too eager to get rid of it

Not even close. The most profitable MacDonald's in Canada is in Cambridge next to the 401 in Ontario - by a long shot.

Go figure and I've heard that claim repeated by quite a few people. Shows how info even if correct can travel.

Nope, and it's not unreasonable for anyone to find Central an abomination. Post this project in the Canada section and it will be instantly compared to Toronto's Pier 27 as it's heavy-handed and apocalyptic afterbirth.

Seriously considering buying something here to move in. Any obvious warnings I should look out for?

How is the commercial building stock coming along? Does anyone know of any new retail openings in the surrounding area in the coming year aside from what's already there? If anyone does live here, can you comment upon whether the retail services meet your needs so that on a typical day you won't have to drive out of your way to get something?
