Nice find. All I've seen previously are massing diagrams.

1321 Mission St. and 380 Eight St. @ Harrison St.

At the top of the photo is a large parking lot (form bus parking) where the construction is happening now for 380 Eight St.. There will be 400 apartments built with an equal number of parking spaces.

At the bottom of the photo is 1321 Mission St. at 9th St. The crane was assembled there today. Lot of things happening from my view on the 27 floor of the Essex Fox Plaza!

I think for once having so many garage spaces might be a good thing- having this many cars coming in and out will help keep an eye on the area and could help speed up the improvement.

Is phase 3 the last phase?

Drivers don't do anything to improve the street experience. Pedestrians do.

Apparently Box is doubling their space in 222 Second St, now taking the ENTIRE building 450k sq ft.

Salesforce is more than doubling the amount of the Transbay Tower they are taking...from 300k to 700k..more than half of the tower will be theirs.

There is going to be some extreme office shortages for the SF in the next few years.

You can see that block size development in the background where they have also apparently now broken ground.

Speaking of which, Salesforce is set to announce something big tomorrow morning with Ed Lee and Nancy Pelosi in attendance:

Quote:
Salesforce to make 'historic investment in San Francisco'

With Salesforce.com rumored to be in talks to take chunks of the new Transbay Tower, the company is scheduled tomorrow morning — together with Mayor Ed Lee and House Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi — to announce what Lee is calling “Salesforce’s historic investment in San Francisco.”

No details on the substance of the announcement have been made public, but Lee’s office has issued an advisory about the event, which will occur on the 25th floor of 50 Fremont Street, where Salesforce is the major tenant and which is across the street from the Transbay construction site.
It could be a Transbay Tower announcement, but Lee's comment is making me think it might be something else in the public interest on par with Google's donation of youth Muni passes.

It's way out of that price range, but my dream is some philanthropist funding the downtown extension. Actually, my dream is being that philanthropist. Man, that would feel good.

ozone - 1321 Mission, called Panoramic, will have small apartments (dining table doubles as a bed) for anyone who can tolerate a small living space.

More info. at this link:

Salesforce has done many great things for the city. Beinoff and his wife have donated a lot of their wealth to helping the homeless and impoverished families of San Francisco. Truly a leader in corporate responsibility.

This was taken on the 8th, Filbert and Van Ness. I remember the Chevron station that used to be there.

Wow, the rumors were right. Salesforce has been growing like crazy and could be leasing almost 2 million sq ft at Fremont and Mission alone by 2018. I've been wondering why neither 50 Fremont nor 350 Mission was renamed "Salesforce Tower" and now we know they were saving it for the big time. I wonder if the Benioffs own a place in Millennium Tower to complete the quadfecta at Fremont/Mission.

I just realized Salesforce may crack the Fortune 500 next year. They had $4 billion in revenue in their most recent fiscal year and it's been growing 30% y/y for the last four years. Around $5B will be the threshold for next year's list.

huge news, literally stopped at a news box near union sq this morning, like agog. salesforce tower, so crazy. will definitely be one of those things that locals call transbay tower forever and that transplants will be like "you mean salesforce tower?"

that news about box taking all of 222 second is wild too. like, as if those simultaneous announcements don't underline the explosive growth of tech (and even more specifically, cloud), like just generally but also as the prime driver of office demand.

I seriously doubt too many locals are going to call an as of yet nonexistent tower by its promotional name rather than its Salesforce Tower name, esp, because Salesforce will be plastered in big letters on it 100ft up. Everybody from today on will naturally say Salesforce Tower because that is how it should always be displayed from now on.

Wakame, Salesforce is taking bottom 30 floors + top floor. Save for the penthouse, whoever else leases technically gets a better part of the tower, the part that is overlooking the city.

It'll probably be spread among various tenants, possibly many or possibly just a few
