Wow, great illustrations.

Now that I see all three examples, it really does make me wonder why the Millennium Line spur to Lougheed will remain branded as a separate service.

I guess in terms of aesthetics, the fact that the outbound is higher than the inbound seems to reflects the topography of the area anyway. The Lougheed Station area itself is at the bottom of the hill and does have a natural incline nonetheless, so it may not look so bad once its done.

Of course, we all know the real reason why they have that hump to begin with, but for the casual user who may not know the colourful history of the Evergreen Line, it may seem a natural way to build it that way...

Are you talking about the proposed Western Port Moody Station that was being lobbied by the owner of Andres Winery and a few developers? If so, I thought that plan was dead....

That's why I was asking.
If there's an 80m section of level at-grade track - then it's still possible...

Probably because for over a decade, users have become familiar with where the Expo trains and Millennium trains go.
You don't want to confuse the sheeple by changing it to "Expo train to King George" and "Expo train to Lougheed" at the same time Evergreen starts running. then the masses start crying out "where's my Millennium train ?"

I've heard a Canada Line line train be skipped because 'that's an airport train -- we need a Richmond train to get to Oakridge'.
oh ..

Fortunately, he was tossed from the premier's office before the station was completed and opened and 'officially' named VCC-Clark.

I suspect nobody at the time wanted a Glen-Clark [Memorial] Station to remind future generations of the last elected NDP premier and the scandals that killed their re-election chances.

The elevated guideway shown in the FaceBook update immediately east of Barnet Hightway in Port Moody crosses Schoolhouse Creek and the north end of Douglas Street before coming down to grade between Douglas and Elgin Streets. The potential 3rd Port Moody station is at grade between Elgin and Queens streets.

There's also (proposed to be) two switches and a propulsion substation along that stretch.

Sorry.. didn't see this message.

New stops will be added at 104 @ 140th, and KGB @ 80th. They changed the frequency to every 10min all day but had since reversed the change, so I have no idea if there's going to be adjustment. However, I heard they are going to use much more 40ft buses on the line, as there's no replacement for the bus that crashed a month ago, and they might transfer a few more back to Burnaby..

As for Evergreen Line, the girder now reaches the south bound lanes on North Road, and the two tracks are finally at the same level.

The switches would explain the use of the I-beam girders.

Do you have a link to the info on these changes? I know it is off the topic of this thread but I'd like to take a read aka frequencies and the stop changes.

Maybe you can just PM it to me if you have it. If not is the info in another thread?

I will try to deliver tomorrow. It's getting hard to capture because the curve is at the point of blocking the view of new segments

Does anyone know what's the current status of the tunnel boring machine? Has it started digging yet? It was supposed to be assembled and ready in February, if I'm not mistaken.

There is a conveyor belt system assembled that looks like it will carry the dirt from the TBM and up to waiting dump trucks, so it has to be close

The quality is terrible because of upload issues and the rain on the train windows, but here's a video from this morning showing the extent of guideway construction.
