Two reasons - They are pushing to get the loading bay area reopened; and, the levels they are on are massive transfer slabs to carry the tower above that is partially cantilevered over the arena.

Once they get past these levels and on to typical floors the project will start to hum.

Levels 1 and 3 will expand the concourse of the arena and the 2nd floor will be for washrooms. Does that mean the sports bar will be 2 levels (4th and 5th floor)? How will people get into the sports bar if the two entrances are for the 1st and 3rd level? I can't imagine people having to go through the arena to get into the sports bar, especially considering it seems it will be open year round and not just on gamedays.

The Tower’s fourth floor will feature a cutting edge sports bar unlike any other in Vancouver. The club will include new premium view seating plus allow fans without tickets to purchase low priced “standing room” access to the building where they can enjoy the “in-building” atmosphere during the game as well as pre and post game.
Credit: Rogers Arena

Fourth floor and there will obviously be some exterior entrance since it will include room for non-ticketed fans.

So they are going to charge standing room tickets but you wont actually get to see the ice? Just to be in "the building"?

Seems like this project has been at the same stage for months now. I know they are working on connecting the building to the arena but it just seems to be taking forever.

With the Canucks moving their corporate offices to this building, does anyone know what is happening with their current office space on the eastern part of the arena? Will that be converted to something else? Luxury suites etc.?

I suspect that "low priced “standing room” access" would be like a cover charge - but given ticket prices, it could be high.

a shot of TOWER 2 site clearing under way

shots of TOWER 1 showing the glass that has gone in under the viaducts. also you can see the tower has now gone `over` Rogers arena if you will above Gate 8.

Thnkas.
You'd think there would be a bigger protective canopy over Gate 8 - but I guess they don't work when the crowds use the arena.

Thanks for the photos. Excited that they are proceeding with the second tower whilst the first is still under construction.

That seems like relatively rapid progress, it's flying.

This thing was painfully slow getting to the viaduct level. Can't wait to see how it grows this summer.

So when they tear the viaducts down this walkway will have to be demolished and rebuilt again in a different config.
