Jazz are positioned very well for the future. 5 players under the age of 23, all selected in the lottery, who are transforming into great NBA players, with another top 10 pick coming their way in June.
The team is constructed to be bad this year, so the young guys can get playing time, but they're playing better than expected. We currently have the youngest team with those young guys playing serious time since the 1964 Detroit Pistons. In 2 years time, we will have completed one of the fastest complete team rebuilds via draft in NBA history. Jazz are the most winningest franchise to never win the title, and that winning culture still remains. Since Trey Burke came back from injury, Jazz are playing above .500 ball, which is lightyears above what we were projected to be playing.
Spurs have been great for awhile, but they will soon have to enter the rebuild phase. Duncan said he is thinking about retiring at season's end, and once that happens, you know Pop and Ginobili will too, while Parker will be traded somewhere else. Where does that leave the Spurs? They'll have a very long rebuild. With no stars left, no core of young players besides Kawhi, no more HOF coach. W/O Duncan and Pop, San Antonio won't be a destination city for free agents, it will just be another small market NBA team with little hope.
