Just at YEG off to Tulum Mexico. A funny comment my girl friend made about the new hotel gave me a chuckle. " is that the new hotel?" Yes babe it is. It looks like transitional housing!!!

It's not the greatest looking building. But traditional housing lol!!

LOL... Thank god for the splash of colour on the window valences and the jetsons roof element.. otherwise it would look pretty brutal. But I don't mind it as it is now.

I think half of Edmonton is leaving to a sunny destination. February is always a brutal month in this city... 4 days 'till we head for Tamarindo, Costa Rica!!

This article isn't entirely accurate. YYC passed YUL a few years ago as well before things went a little stagnant. The article also talks about YYC's uptick in international traffic. YUL is still clearly much further ahead in this area than YYC and growing, while YYC was down for the year. Just because something was said by some at the airport authority doesn't make it true. And the journalist who wrote this may want to do some research before just blindly writing something that is so easily verifiable.

This is no surprise. 99% of main stream media "reports" something to be true according to the person being interviewed. You know like when every reporter prints a story about housing being a great investment and how prices always go up after talking to the Real Estate Board or a ReMax guy or a bank.

I will take YUL's international connections any day over YYC's 30 daily flights to Edmonton and 20 weekly flights to Cancun, no offense tuffyy lol.

YYC was never actually ahead of YUL. When they made that claim 4 or 5 years ago, YUL released their "revised" pax numbers to include rev & non-rev which put them back ahead of YYC. For the last 12 years, the 2 airports haven't really been more than 500k, though.

As Cage points out, YYC (and YEG, incidentally) don't get to include the passengers using the corp terminals which is (if I'm to believe what I'm told) is north of 500k pax/yr. That would put YYC close to 15M. YUL has nowhere near that throughput from its corporate hangars south of 06R/24L. Though it's probably not a huge sum, I wonder how many passengers actually use south YVR terminal... Is that info accessible? A little off topic, I know.
