Oh, I wouldn't say we're the best state. Just better than Utah.

Not impressive mountain shots at all, come on guys, make it harder.

I hope Boise brings it. Of course, they're not invited to the SLC/Denver party. But I think somebody more their tier, Colorado Springs maybe, could box with Boise a little, that'd be fun!

It's just going to be Colorado versus the whole Mountain West region isn't it.. Let's pop some more balloons!!

Also, did you just put SLC in our tier? Blasphemy! They drag you out to the public square for that kind of behavior... Haha.. We still love you Salt Lake!

That'a an insult to Boise to compare it with our little government welfare queen with it's severe case of schizophrenia . COS should be compared with such stellar places as Fayetteville, NC or El Paso, TX. Actually, Boise should be compared with El Paso as COS doesn't measure up there either.

Agreed! The only city, IMO, that is strikingly similar to Boise is Spokane. Both are great places to life and have similar metro populations (Boise is the bigger of the two and has almost the same metro population as COS, per Wiki),

COS while in an awesome setting is a military city. A medium sized military city.

El Paso is a great comparison.

Remember, in war, the only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?

Oh all right I'll chime in. I think Idaho's kind of its own little world. Great example of this is how you can pair every US state west of the Mississippi with a sort of "sister state." (Washington-Oregon, Utah-Colorado, Montana-Wyoming, Arizona-New Mexico, California-Nevada, North Dakota-South Dakota, etc.) But Idaho is the one and only state in the West that has no clear "sister."

Anyway I don't think we ever developed rivalries for other places. The closest "rivalry" we have is maybe Boise vs. the rest of Idaho and the Spokane area but that's nothing new. The only thing that "rivalry" has given us is petty and stupid behavior in local politics. No bueno.

It would've been cool though if we could've kept the Tetons and Kalispell/Glacier National Park.

Agreed! I like you guys and your potatoes.. You seem like a chill, level headed group of people.

Also, it appears there is a Denver booster in the SLC Development Thread, and they're from SLC.. Actually, this person is not really a Denver booster per se, they're just more of a realist, and practical type.

After doing some research, I found out that the Highest point in Colorado is Mount Elbert which is 14,440 ft. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_highest_major_summits_of_Colorado

So by your guys' standards, Colorado barely has any mountains.

The highest peak in the continental US is Mount Whitney in California. 14,505 ft.

I'm getting the feeling that you are all just trying to get under people's skin....

Here is how I see it.

Utah is Colorado's bitch. Idaho is Utah's bitch.

Well, 25 more than Utah. Because 14,000 ft is the standard. No one goes up to climb 13er's, you climb 14'ers or you go home.

Now Alaska..... the fact that they have one at 20,000 ft just puts everyone to shame.

Barely any mountains? Know how I know you barely did research? We have 53 fourteeners, depending on your method.

You said that 14,000 ft. isn't a mountain. You're highest mountains only reach 500 ft. over that. So, by your own standards, You have 53 kinda tall mountains. Are you seriously saying that only five states have any real mountains?
