Another Road to avoid on the drive in. St Albert Trail(Mark Messier) from 137 to 118th. The problem there is all the lights and the horrendous timing of them.

But in the summer riding my bike in takes the same time as a drive in.

I won't gloat, but I love my short commute by bus or bike.

Soooo.... between the two announced and u/c office towers, how much unleased space is there? I know there is lots of negotiations for KR, but all that is showing up as signed is KPMG I think. There is probably a good 200k in Tower D that is empty.

It will be interesting to see what happens if Stantec takes space in 102st Centre....

One road I absolutely loathe is 127 St just north and south of the Yellowhead. I especially dislike the NB right lane being for 127 Ave only, people are always caught off-guard here, so they have to swing back to the next lane. The intersection at Yellowhead is in dire need of an interchange. If nwLRT wasn't forthcoming I'd say that 127 St requires another lane or 2.

Took a drive down to Beaumont last Friday, via 50 St. It's amazing how much office space is being built around the area of Whitemud and 50 St. It's no wonder downtown struggles with leasing when that much suburban space being continually added to the market. It's good filler for those areas, but certainly is having a big impact on building up in the core.

Not all of that office space is leased by businesses that would be suited to be located downtown. There needs to be a mix.

That development on the NWC of Whitemud & 50th looks quite nice. Very modern and glassy.

It's quite nice. There are numerous new industrial office buildings tucked in behind the Henday east that are very very nice. Will have to take some pics when I'm there next.

Agreed - looks quite good and went up pretty quick (drive past it on my commute). Also looks like they have space for a third building on the North side of the property, but would be a bit unique with it being slightly below the grade of the road.

That stretch of 50th is far from filled out, as well. Still a large parcel south of the one discussed, and Oxford has Phase 2 (or 3?) of their CityView project at about 50th & 55 Ave.

Yeah the quality of the projects in that area is actually surprisingly very good.

Councillors agreed Tuesday to spend $500,000 upgrading Commonwealth Stadium's field despite concerns by Coun. Michael Oshry that the city must better plan such improvements.

Flag and goal anchors will be installed and the end zones expanded by squaring off the oval track.

The track will also be painted green, as requested by FIFA for the women's and female U-20 world soccer championships, being held in August and in 2015...
