It's amazing to see a bit of the reverse YYC-YEG-Europe effect happening. That price point is having it's effect.

It'll be interesting to see if AC adjusts it's price point this summer in response.

I think it'll go under evaluation once FI is in full swing.

Yep, but FI seems to come in at about 10-20% cheaper for onward connections at the moment.

Onestop connection services are split on price competitiveness between AC and KLM. KLM is more expensive by about $100-$200 for cities that are Skyteam heavy. AC is more expensive in Star dominated markets. On a country by country basis. AC is more expensive in Germany, Austria, Scandinavia, Switzerland. KLM is more expensive in Italy, France, etc.

Don't worry, I botched my plans to book FIFI when they were dangling a gigantic carrot back in the fall. I'm already committed to getting some action on British Airways instead come this summer..
Large glory hole windows to poke my lens out for some incredible memories while skimpily humming along the edge of the atmosphere..

There has been alot of Giant activities at YYC lately. Why don't these guys just do a full on scheduled service instead since the demand seems to be legitimate..

Fire trucks with lights flashing on Apron VII, not sure if that's related to the lack of movements on 17R. Hope nothing is on fire.

Is all this Atlas activity still British Army related? That was the reason for the big push over the summer.

I think they were mainly Japan bound (KOJ and KKJ).

Quincy, MA, February 12, 2014 – Due to the high demand of Edmonton’s newest service to Europe, Icelandair will be adding an additional flight on Tuesdays throughout their 2014 summer schedule. With the additional departure, Icelandair now offers flights up to five days a week with non-stop service to Iceland and connections to more than 20 destinations in Europe. Earlier this year, Icelandair previously announced an early launch date of March 5th and increased the seasonal flight schedule to year-round service from Edmonton.

Icelandair offers three cabins of service with leather seats and personal in-flight entertainment systems for all passengers. Wi-Fi service is also being installed in all aircraft by fall 2014, making Icelandair the first transatlantic carrier to offer fleet-wide Wi-Fi.

Article also states the fastest growing airport in Canada. I would restate that as fastest growing major airport in Canada as we all know YMM would certainly take that prize.

Although the actual stats haven't been released in the tables yet, December must have been a huge month.

2014 will most likely be another strong year with all the increases coming.

Another solid year! I think once YYC hits the 15-20M range, that will put them on the radar of a lot more international carriers.

Domestic up 8.5%
Transborder up 8.1%
International up 2.4%

YUL need to record 1,332,089 or more in Dec if they need to be ahead of YYC, which is very unlikely. They had less than 1.1M in last 3 years in December. So, YYC would be at least 200K ahead of YYC

lol I get asked this question all the time..."So when the new runway/terminal opens, we are going to get a lot more international flights?"

I usually just respond, "Yeah we'll get a lot more A380's and 747's" lol
