Shoring rigs are being packed up at K-R today. For real this time, I've been watching a stream of flatbeds get loaded up and carrying the pieces away all day.

I wonder if this will provide a carrot as well - given it is on the opposite side of the tracks? making the area much more palatable for developers...

The stadium road site is just a batch plant as far as I know, definitely no pre-casting on site.

Your right - I think it is on Sherwood Park freeway near 48 street - out that way.

After years in storage in Duluth, Minn., the heart of the new Sturgeon Refinery is finally on the road.

A dozen megaloads, which represent the disassembled vessel components weighing up to 510 tonnes each, are being hauled this week from a CN Rail siding north of Redwater down secondary roads to the refinery construction site northeast of Fort Saskatchewan...

Edmonton should concentrate on building dedicated inner-city bike lanes rather than saving money by creating suburban riding routes, Mayor Don Iveson says.

"I don't think there's a silver bullet for bike lanes, but I think there's a consensus emerging ... that we should focus our scarce resources where demand is highest," he said Wednesday...

Makes sense. The biggest problem with the bike routes in the outer areas is that they often force cyclists to flip back & forth between being bikers and pedestrians. But that's a relatively easy fix by re-aligning the routes to the proper intersections. Expensive dedicated lanes are not required in areas that already have wide streets and slow traffic.

The continuation of the multi-use to Clareview is a no-brainer. The smaller bit that is there is heavily used by cyclists. Extending the route will solve several problems and increase ridership on that route.

Fixing issues on Whyte ave and 102st will help less experienced cyclists feel better about cycling. Right now, for the less experienced, they can be a challenge.
