Rincon I and II Moonrise at Sunset

Looks like 6 more floors and the windows will be in place. There are 2 highrises going up across the street from Rincon, 400' and 450', which will block part of the bay view from my apartment view. It will be interesting to see what the view will be like in a couple of years.

Some of the renderings for 340 Fremont seem to imply that will be rehabbed and incorporated into that project, as seen on the far left here:

But I haven't been able to find confirmation of that anywhere. In fact, the planning documents I've seen indicate that lot is outside the 340 Fremont project area, so perhaps it's just creative license on the part of Handel. It appears to be occupied and maintained, so not sure I'd call it dilapidated. Definitely a little weathered though.

Anyone else know for sure?

Rincon II - One Floor to Go for the Skin

By Monday 02/3/2014 the last windows will be installed on the west side. Exciting to see the building nearing completion.

I actually had the opportunity to spend part of yesterday in the community area / pool and grill platform of Rincon Hill. Having never been inside the building, I have to say it is very elegant and modern. The community space is excellent and surprisingly tranquil, and the new tower looks great soaring above it. I was there on business so I didn't snap any pictures, but it looks very nice.

I want your camera!
Looks like a panel of glass is missing and boarded up on the taller tower. Makes me wonder how they would replace it, I guess this can be done from the inside.
I don't think these windows open at all, unlike Millenium. I need my fresh air.

I guess I never thought of it that way...

I'm really interested in how the window was broken in the first place. Did somebody chuck a bowling ball at it?

They have started filling in the curtain wall section where the exterior construction elevator was. First five or so floors are filled in.

^Yes indeed:

Quite a few pieces of glass need to be filled-in elsewhere too:

No longer giving SF the finger. Two is much better that one.
