Found this from the Brentwood Station Blog

http://brentwoodstation.blogspot.ca/

Fly through video of the proposed plaza.

Video Link

I think the water feature is strange how it gets cut off...

Thanks for posting the video. It was not working, so for convenience I have reposted it.

Definitely no bark mulch in this plaza:

Wow - the blue LED lighting is going to look amazing. So much extra lighting everywhere actually!

Perhaps not in this promotional video, but I'm sure there will be when the project is built. (Benches for seating not being an outrageous expense)

You guys to understand that it probably won't look like that once built though right? There will be stuff that gets cut along the way, I'm sure it'll look great but just don't go expecting what you currently see. I expect the water canal and the infloor lighting to be cut back but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

The video is lame. I spent 1.5 minutes looking at a tree and a fountain.

I like the idea of it but not so much the location. I can foresee quite a few drunk teens fooling around in the fountain coming off of the SkyTrain. It should be set back from it somewhat.

Im quite hopeful about the commercial component of this development. This is a major flagship development, making a pretty big buzz, I think the pressure will be on to deliver an impressive product.

They've definitely set the bar really high on this one. I hope they can deliver on most of it. I haven't seen much going on at the construction site still.

Look at the number of people standing around the admire the tree and fountain. Perhaps piped in music to go along with the water show.

The only question is will it be on the same scale as the fountain in Vegas? Will Metrotown have to have lions or pirate ships in front to attracts shoppers away from Brentwood.

In fairness it is an improvement over what is there now (basically a parking lot and muffler repair place that closed down 15 years ago). It also is far more creative, pedestrian and community focused that what is happening at the other town centre in Burnaby.

Yes!! Thanks for having the guts to come forth and say that. People talk about Metrotown-this, and Metrotown-that, but I think that when Brentwood is up and running, (including SOLO) that it will be spiffier than ... the "other" major town centre.

The video also left out the 6 lanes of backed up traffic that plagues the area.

I'll take your word for it. I don't really know North Van well except for the friends I have that live not far from the seabus and they tell me getting from there to downtown is more often than not during the day longer than getting to many other places further like Metrotown or Brentwood.

And by Surrey I'm talking transit. I hop a skytrain and 35 minutes later I'm right downtown and haven't had to park. If I drive to North Van though during the day then yes with traffic it could take me over an hour. That said, I was in West Vancouver last week Friday evening and around 7pm my wife and I left Hollyburn Country Club and drove to our place in Surrey Central and it took exactly 34 minutes door to door so Surrey isn't as far as people think. Just have that pesky toll in the way.

I think even drunken teens would respect the prestige of the area. I remember when Holland Park in Surrey was landscaped with public art, it was reasonable to believe that the cleanliness of the park along with graffiti and vandalism would be a concern. But alas, there has not been any measurably issue with the park despite being in Whalley. So I am sure Brentwood would have even less of a chance for such an occurence.

Brentwood will also be private property, so I would not worry too much.

I'm growing concerned that this tower is being designed by James Cheng and it is taking so long for them to release a rendering...

Is that traffic along Lougheed or down Willingdon?
In either case, would it be possible to build underpasses (tunnels) so express traffic can bypass the town centre?
