Its totally over and above to what is user friendly. And what is economically feasible!! Settle down....When the accountants and money carriers see the logistic....forget this lol.

Hey that's actually nice and big for Drummondville.

That looks beautiful. It looks like an established, healthy neighbourhood - which is probably the most important part of making that a reality.

As well as being huge. It can extend the pedestrian vibe of the Entertianment District and King West a bit to the south onto Wellington and Front.

If the GTA is to add another 3 million people on its current footprint, we'll have to build thousands of mid rises and low rises. Building tall isn't possible or preferable everywhere.

Take the Beaches, Danforth, or Junction. There's tons of room for infill, but it will have to be low rise or mid rise. Most places in the GTA are like this. It's only in nodes like the core, NYCC, Humber Bay, MCC, STC, etc. where we can or should go tall.

When ppl ask me what kind of architecture all of Canada deserves--The Well is the bare minimum standard we should be striving for--it's gorgeous and a good start!

Well, at least it will be much closer to their downtown than ours is (3km vs 6km) and it will replace a vacant lot and an ugly building instead of a mature forest.

What's the deal with Sherbrooke anyways, is it a height limit issue or do people just don't want "skyscrapers" in their city's downtown? How is Sherbrooke doing nowadays, I know that Drummondville is growing quite quickly.

This is very true , unfortunately in many of those neighborhoods you mention there still persists fierce nimbyism to many projects that are only half the height of this proposal.

If I'm not mistaking, he was talking about Drummondville's exhibition center being built outside of their downtown just like ours was built on a no man's land three years ago.

Well fast by rural Quebec standards. A quick search on wikipedier says Drummondville grew by 6.6% between 2006-2011. Not too shabby.

12 to 15 storeys would be completely out of scale with The Beach neighbourood.

^developers are having problems with 6 floors there, yet alone 15. And yes, I completely agree that 15 is way out of scale.
