The City could still settle later on in the process, as it does for many other developments. 1 Yonge was also appealed to the OMB and will probably get settled, doesn't make it a vision.

The Mirvish towers are far from dead. The city is working with the developer to find a compromise and the project will be re-visited in March. They were not turned down out right. It's silly to categorize them as mere "visions". They are legit proposals.

The project would be listed as cancelled if it were dead. Vision suggests the project is proceeding however, the current 280 metre designs as drawn beautifully by koops are not going to come to fruition as that plan was rejected by council.

I like to keep the Top 50 as fluid as possible. I thought this move made a lot of sense. I'll change it back.

One Yonge has yet to be voted on.

@WS - I appreciate the compliment, but those drawings were (are) very much out of date, and the reason I never bothered to update them was because of you and others saying how unlikely the buildings were to be approved. It seems my hesitation is justified. I can see major changes here before a shovel hits the ground. Ditto for One Yonge.

The latest the decision will come is March 20th

An 18-member advisory group that includes a retired bank chief executive, a former dean of architecture, local residents and businesses has begun meetings to look for a compromise on the controversial Frank Gehry condo towers planned for King Street West.

The group, created last month in an attempt to prevent an expensive show-down before the Ontario Municipal Board, met for the first time in private on Tuesday. It is planning at least one public meeting, Councillor Adam Vaughan said. Mr. Vaughan represents the ward that includes the site of entrepreneur David Mirvish’s proposed three-tower development and will chair the group. Other members include former TD bank CEO Charles Baillie; the past dean of the University of Toronto’s faculty of architecture, landscape and design, Larry Richards; three representatives of the developer including Mr. Mirvish; and city planning staff. Mr. Baillie was president of the board of trustees of the Art Gallery of Ontario during its most recent renovation by Mr. Gehry and was selected for his experience an “art administrator.

The last floor seems to be taking the longest.

I guess the holidays and the weather also had something to do with it!

Wow - how real is this proposal?? It would depend hugely on the materials, but as it appears now I actually quite like it. And have been opposed to anything on this stretch in the past. Is this hotel/office?

For those interested, this is the stretch it would occupy, starting at the empty lot on the left: http://goo.gl/maps/oyOQO
