But even if Mirvish gets built as is I doubt it will lead to a slew of 900ft giants there's only so much the market can support.
My NimbyTect Neighbourhood "fantasy urban plan" is focused on redeveloping the Entertainment/Fashion District and thus far is at building #25 and I foresee enough space for another 100-200 buildings. The idea that Toronto's core is running out of space for taller buildings is ... nonsense.

Furthermore, there's no way that view is from the correct location. The tower will be on Yonge. The view is clearly from somewhere west of Bay Street.

Probably took those pictures from inside their junkie RoCP buildings or the McLean Hunter Tower.

Pure rental tower style here--ie no style at all. Compare to the conservative but chic minimalism at Yonge+Rich for example.

Put me in as a fan of the previous incarnation of 460 Yonge.

They have been re-categorized as "visions", which I think is incorrect. They are official proposals, as applications have been made to the city. Here is the preliminary report: http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2013/te/bgrd/backgroundfile-56083.pdf

Accordingly, I will not be removing them from the first page of this thread.

Yeah, those are certainly not visions. They are talked about officially on a semi-regular basis, it's obviously a serious proposal, just with the potential to be scaled back drastically, which would 🞵🞵🞵🞵.

Whippersnapper doesn't think Mirvish can pull it off.

I think that's besides the point. Determining whether a proposal is viable or not is an imprecise and subjective endeavour. What we do know for a fact is that an application is in and is very much working its way through the system.

A proposal that is currently bring refined by city council should not be listed as vision.

The Mirvish proposal was rejected by council. It won't be built. What replaces and how similar it is to this proposal is irrelevant, IMHO, and will only confuse those non locals into believing that the current design are still going forth.

One Yonge is going through the processes. Common sense suggests it will be changed but, a final decision on what has been proposed has yet to be made.

The city is currently working with the developer with the express purpose of getting this proposal (albeit a scaled-down and more heritage-sensitive version) approved. I don't know how you can't call this an official proposal when the city has literally set up working groups to shepherd this project through the approval process.
