322 and 339 North Broad. HUGELY transformative for North Broad even though they will only be 6 floors each. About 90 feet high. Buildings will add over 100 residential units and ground floor retail. I'll post renderings later. Huge things happening in this city ladies and gents! Let's keep this awesome momentum of 2014 rolling!
The proposal next to the Comcast Center looks too tacky and too cheap!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hombre, it's a $1.2 billion (with a B) Norman Foster building. Do some research on what that means and then get back to us with a more informed opinion on whether this building will ultimately look "too tacky and to cheap!!!!!!!"
Summer, what are the cross Streets of the Broad developments? I'm assuming Callowhill?

North Broad has so many gaping holes, garages, drive-thrus, vacant buildings within a remarkably close distance of City Hall. This development is definitely a positive step in that it adds more residents, more retail, and, unlike past restoration projects (which I appreciate, too), this one gives N. Broad a dose of new/modern construction and removes two parking lots/eyesores from the street. Win-Win.

This is great infill and also helps close a gap in Broad street between center city and North Philly and surrounding neighborhoods. There's a couple parking lots left so hopefully this spurs growth all the way to the Divine Lorraine.
The Broad and Callowhill Apartment Complex will be a great addition to N. Broad Street. It looks similar to Dranoff's 777 S. Broad St., but is a nicer design and larger too. I read the Phia.gov report and it looks like 110 apts on east side of Broad and 230 apts on the west side with about 6 retail spaces. I wonder how these folks will feel if the casino gets approved 50 to 75 feet away?

The developer must think of it as having minimum impact since they are investing big money in constructing these apartment units. In terms of the potential renters, it's a wait and see thing. I assume the rent will adjust accordingly or some other incentives if they get no takers if/when the casino gets built.

I have to imagine by the time the apartments gets built, either Provence will be well under construction or be a dead project.

Totally agree. Gentrification from Center City has been spreading west, now its time for it to start spreading more north.
I believe it is an expansion to the synagogue... I remember reading it somewhere, but can't remember where. Otherwise I would link. Maybe someone else will.
Does anyone know what they are building near north Brpad and Green Street? Right next to the Museum of Jewish Art, there is construction fencing up.

Yep... expansion for Rodeph Shalom Synagogue. It will take out the parking lot directly to the south of it, but unfortunately not behind it.
I live only a few blocks from these projects, and I'm stoked! So much going on. Now... The huge lots at Broad and Spring Garden gotta go! If only I was a rich real estate developer... Haha
I have to say that I'm a little surprised that the East Building doesn't extend all the way down the Armory lot. Site plan info suggests that part was sold off. This makes me wonder if there are plans in the works for the rest of it...Hm...
