I thought the Atlas Air 744 has 474 seats, so it would still edge out the 77W.

Plan is to stay on the parallels for as long as possible (25 KT crosswind component) and once it's more than that we will go on 29/26

By a hair, but either way I look at it, I can't help but feel the pain of fitting 120 people more than I had at my junior high school into a 77W. Madness, I tell ya!

Atlas general does not sell the upper deck, Plus crew rest seats must be removed from the seat count. I estimate that Atlas will only sell up to 450 seats on this flight with the upper cabin used for crew rest.

Also with only a single reference to the 474 seats on the Wikipedia link, I am skeptical about the claim to that number of seats.

747 are not uncommon here. The 77L tomorrow... I'm excited for that. Several years since we've had one.

Two 744's will be on the field... Cargolux is just passing over 22X landing shortly, the WS charter is near Thunder Bay, ETA 21:30.

Yeah, I just worked in that big fella. Ran a pretty tight cross with Skywest (ahead) landing 29. Of course, it doesn't help when traffic landing 29 grounds 110-120 kts from 4 miles out while the 35L arrivals are consistently 20-30 kts faster down to the piano keys.... Child's play compared to the conditions we had at the start of the week, however.

Good view of the 29 approach from our building and when the Chinook is really blowing, the Beech 1900's and Dash 8's appear to be hovercraft on approach to 29.

How you know this incident wasn't that serious:

AC 173 77L is here. She's landing 35L, can't see her land from this side of our building but even up high in the downwind you can see the shorter fuselage of the 200 makes the engines look huuuuge

The one day I was praying for a strong westerly wind, no dice. But yeah, she looked fantastic all shimmering and what not up in the downwind.

Here's hoping some spotter or two was out today catching her arrival. A shame that I am now merely a relic fallen out of touch with my yyc passion. I would of normally made an effort to come out to catch the arrival, same with the Atlas arrival last evening..

Hope this phase of my life goes away so I can get back out to where I feel that I truly belong, the intersection of rwy 29/35 on that dirt patch with my trusty step ladder.

looks like Pittsburgh, PA is targeting Calgary as one of the destinations it wants nonstop service too. I couldn't see it happening for a couple of reasons, very little O&D, and I can't think of any airline that would want to fly the route.
