I don't think it would be feasible to shove 66 floors into 198 meters, but I don't think it will get much over 200 meters even if it is true they are squeezing in more floors. A slight variance for 2 or 3 meters would be enough to fit the additional floors. So maybe it tops out at 201 or 202 meters.

You could fit 66 floors in 198 metres quite comfortably with 8 foot ceilings

ok. Just thought that if they could fit 60 floors in 207 meters, fitting 66 floors in 198 meters might be a bit of a challenge.

Anyways, I still will bet this one is only 60 floors, not 66 floors.

Trump Vancouver is fitting 67 floors in 188 M so it is very much doable.

Standard 9 foot ceilings are a very recent trend. It makes a difference when comparing building heights to cities where nine and ten foot ceilings have been the norm for ages.

When Toronto condos start going to 10 foot ceilings, then we know that the bar would have been raised from mid-range to luxury or mega-luxury projects. This is just a run of the mill crap condo anyway.. So I don't think anyone cares that it will only have 8 foot ceilings.

In Yorkville, 50 floors will get you close to 200 meters I bet.

True other cities where 9 and 10 foot is the norm are more geared towards the high end side of the market but, Vancouver is proof that there is more to it than that. Is it just developers pushing to maximize floor space within height restrictions? Did the slab apartment blocks being built in fields during the 60s have height restrictions?

Unwarranted? It clearly didn't dovetail with the post it followed. There's nothing snarky or immature about pointing that out. It's unfortunate and disturbing that some people assume that everything is an attack or without basis. That says more about the company one keeps than anything else.

When people point out oversights or apparent mistakes, it's only people who live in a constant state of hostility and conflict that take these normal observations as personal attacks. You've been watching too much Jerry Springer.

It was nothing but snarky and unnecessary. Had Isaidso looked at the posting times it would have been obvious to conclude that my post was written at the same time as Ramako wrote his, and like I said earlier, my post followed directly from Chad's comments re 45 Bay.
Too bad Isaidso cannot see and comprehend that, but insteads feels the need to attempt to justify his snide comment with more personal attacks.

Anyways, I don't want to thread drift, so this matter is closed as far as I'm concerned and I won't spoil this thread any further by discussing it.

I'm awaiting word on 50 Bloor W., among others. Obviously the insiders here know nothing or there would be posts indicating impending action of some sort (TCP meeting, approval, sales, whatever...).

I wouldn't get my hopes too high for 50 BW so soon, might be a while. Morguard are notorious for being a developer with poor track record, having development time frames dragged on for a long time.

The ship has half sailed on that project right now IMO, honestly may have to wait till next boom period (at least in this format).

Telus Sky was approved this afternoon by city council. Since my last update, all but 4 of Art Central's tenants have been vacated, and the +15 Skywalk between AC and Hanover Place has been shut down.
