I think you mean WS, but I doubt that they are that interested in the SEA area, asides from possibly serving it with Encore.

I mean Westjet lurking overall...as the issue of the hour has Delta serving a number of Canadian cities beside YEG from SEA...and the real agenda could be for WS to get into an alliance...interim and the longer strategy term...initially through SEA and eventually turned back back to WS from what ever city or HUB...

I said it first...

They need to do something about the arrivals area & baggage claim.

It was looking particularly shabby when I was through two days ago

In my opinion, better lighting would help that area. Everytime I'm there is seems so dark and dreary.

^ Dark & dreary... little dirty, the terrazzo floor is looking dated, ceiling tile and gird all banged up..

And one of my biggest pet peaves, especially working within the property management industry... mismatched fluorescent lamps of different temperatures in the fixtures. It makes it look just terrible

They need to expand out toward the parkade. Creat a more secure zone like Vancouver. Add some life to the carousels like Calgary and the customs area at YEG. And bring back the oval carousels like all big city airports.

^ Yes, and that as well. The carousel area is cramped, especially when there are multiple flights in at the same time

Would look better, but it's a huge job, and the domestic chutes at YVR are always getting clogged. It's kinda fun to watch the guy have to run up the chute to dislodge whatever is up there.

US Airways will offer double daily Phoenix this summer, up from single daily last summer. Both flights operate on mainline A319/A320.

They should gut the entire north end and make that a two floor high arrivals area. Smaller version of T1 or similar to the new peg.

Aren't they ever going to do something about the baggage claims area? Ever?!

It's not just the dreariness and lighting. Those carousels look old and scream second/third-tier airport.

And after arriving from YVR on New Year's Day, I've had to wait about half an hour at one of those just for the baggage to start coming out. Because of this, I thought I might not make the 9:00 pm ETS bus to Century Park (which I did, fortunately). I've heard worse wait times for the baggage to come out at YEG - up to an hour in some cases.

^ This has nothing to do with the airport - it is has everything to do with the airline itself.

Not enough staff to take care of luggage - so you end up waiting forever!!

What really bugs in Edmonton, is that whenever you bags are tagged as Priority, they always come out last.

That's not just an Edmonton thing - I've had something like this happen in Vancouver.

After too many instances of long waits for luggage, lost luggage, and damaged luggage, I decided years ago to avoid checking in luggage if possible. I stuff a week's worth of clothes and toiletries in a carry-on. I wash my clothes at my travel destination. I carry a spare backpack in the carry-on in the rare event that someone forces me to check-in my luggage...I can stuff the backpack with toiletries and a change of clothes and that's my carry-on.

What is WestJet 4910? Left off gate 12 at 21:55 going to YYZ, obviously landing well after the curfew.
