I'm not making comparisons, wishing the baggage claim area looked like that, or even suggesting that it could look like that.

What I'm saying is that if we have to spend hundreds of millions of dollars just to renovate the terminal to bring it up to a decent (American) standard, then that says a lot about the current state of the facilities at LAX.

What do I really want? Well, I'd like a brand new terminal instead. LAX needs to adopt some sort of 10-15 year plan to modernize the entire airport. Fresh paint and new terrazzo floors are simply patchwork improvements at this point. Talk about doing the bare minimum.
