Yes, I love it. Hopefully they keep the tail, they are voting on it soon as it has merged with US Airways.

Yup, but they are putting the new livery to a vote, with two options for employees to choose from:

First one hands down, the merge with US Airways should bring a change in logo and signals a change in identity imho.

Flag by a large margin.

Damn!

Was hoping this would start in March as I have a trip planned for the 7th to Dallas to go take in Mike Modano's retirement on the 8th. Oh well. This is good for future trips though!

Any reports of Air Canada throwing a hissy fit over the new flight to Dallas?

It'll be interesting to see if WestJet code shares on this flight. No connections on WS to YQU or YMM can be done with this flight.

First off congratulations YEG in getting another destination.

On the AA livery front, from a logo perspective I wish the newAA would go back to old AA logo. Simple and well understood when reading FIDS, way better than "/" new logo.

Actually wish there was a better combination of the AA logo and name with US Airways livery. The US Airways livery is one of the better ones out there.

As functionality beats out photog perspectives, I vote for the second, more bland livery.

Agree, The AA is kinda the flagship logo for the airline and everyone knew what they were looking at when seeing a silver airplane with with the bold ''AA" on the tail.

I really liked their old livery. However, they can no longer keep their old livery because new planes like the 787 and the a320neo no longer have American Airline's distictive unpainted aluminum frames. Instead, they have composite frames which are darker due to the carbon fiber. Unfortunate...

Anyway, I am definetly a fan of the US flag on the tail. If they are going to change their livery, that one looks great!

The tail is the part that I like least about US' livery. I like their fuselage more. I prefer AA's new tail to the old logo, but I still wish it had just been a normal American flag and not those stripes, or maybe a more elaborate wavy design like BA's tail.

Well I would say 2013 is coming to a pretty grand close for YEG.

A new Scheduled year round transatlantic link, Pretty much all the major flagship hubs in the U.S now connected, Capacity Increases and Increased service to several destinations.

What will 2014 have in store? Should be a interesting year for both YEG and YYC!

Happy holidays all you YEG and YYC folk! Feliz Navidad!

Now I know what I am going to do!

Still hoping for a flight to Asia. A flight to continental Europe wouldn't hurt either.

I wonder if a 787 YEG-FRA would ever be a possibility. It's quite a stretch, but never say never.

Depends how much Icelandair is able to undercut, and whether they are flexible enough to add supply to stop being backed out of the market by a direct to FRA or AMS.
