Pretty good sign for Spring Garden east of Broad. Still a large need for infill.

This is really such an easy fix if anyone on either side had a brain. Unions agree to be more flexible and reduce costs contingent upon SMG bringing in enough new work that unions are better off financially in new scenario then old.

They are setting up quite an A/V presentation for tomorrow's 50th event:


It even appears there's a curtain on the constructed stage in front of that video screen...perhaps for a big reveal of some sort?

As reported on philly.com Pearl Properties just bought 1904 Chestnut (the now abandoned Industry XIX) and is interested in the vacant lot next door (next to the Boyd) and is working on deals for 1900 Chestnut (the Qdoba with the rowing gym) and 1902 Chestnut (the recently abandoned dollar store, formerly a consignment shop with the best aperitif glass collection). Pearl is interested in combining the four properties into one larger for a big project.

The article actually proports to be about the fact that the Always Sunny Crew had been eyeing Industry XIX for their second bar site.

That's a significant stretch of the south side of the 1900 blocks of Chestnut, a short block from the park, right next to the busiest CVS in the city (has to be! 24-hour pharmacy!).

I've been pleased with Pearl's work on The Sansom and in Chinatown so this could be great news for the neighborhood!!

It will be interesting to see what they have planned. Has Pearl built any condo buildings or do they only do rentals?

This is outstanding and awesome news. Pearl also just built the fantastic Granary and then sold it for a healthy profit.

My guess is this Chestnut Street project will be finished before 1900 Arch

pearl might be the best residential developer in Center City. This is no wannabe flipper . This is no Goldenberg. This is no Grasso. These guys have been getting things done and its all top notch.They get it. Build nice stuff and its good for them, the city and the residents who live there.
