So much potential with the Dinwoody...that thing could be a real gem for downtown.

While that's not what it's going to be, I'm glad they are making progress on restoring the facade.

I would love to see the Dinwoody converted into some really cool warehouse syle lofts. I would assume the Dinwoody also has wide wood plank floors, similar to Zims.

Towers Watson Leases Full Floor at 222 Main

http://www.utahbusiness.com/articles/view/towers_watson_leases_full_floor_at_222_main

“In an effort to provide its employees with a more urban working environment, Towers Watson is moving a portion of its operations from the suburbs to downtown,” said Scott Wilmarth, senior vice president of CBRE, who represented Towers Watson in the transaction.

222 Main is a 426,657-square-foot, class A office building. With the finalization of this lease, there are only two more floors available within the building. Constructed by Hamilton Partners, it was Utah’s first LEED Gold certified high-rise.

I LOVE that they are moving some of their employees from the burbs to downtown. Only two more floors available at 222, that is fantastic news, nearly completely occupied in four years, that's pretty impressive.

With Boyer 101 most likely 45% pre-leased or more and if 111 starts to rise along with the PAC in January, that means 111 is pre-leased to at least 45%. This is all very good news for the future of office towers in downtown.

I assume the next tower will either be the 151 tower on State or CCC Tower 8 on State and 100 S.

I wouldn't be surprise that once 101 Tower is finish and the parking garage is done Boyer will start right away with 151.

Agree Future Mayor, this is very exciting. We're really starting to see the full on snowball effect of CCC. I think we're entering a record era of mid and high-rise development over this next decade

Unless, the height of the floors in larger than average, I am hard pressed to believe that the scale of the tower is accurate.

Looking at the people walking by the building in the rendering, I'd say that the ceilings are high. I've noticed the ceiling height of recent buildings getting taller and taller. Which I'm totally for.

True. And actually, It looks like it might be 15, not 14 stories tall. Depending if that base is two floors or not. I hope its 15.

I visited the corner of 1st South and Main. It's official...

The inside is completely cleaned out.

Giant wood fence along a line of "I am moving trees"

Although it'll be a little sad to see these buildings go, we will gain so much more street interaction and vibrancy with the PAC and tower.

Anyone heard if they will be able to salvage the coffered ceiling of the old bank building?

delts145, that's the Eccles Primary Children's Outpatient Services Building which is part of the new Ambulatory Care Complex. I usually just refer to it as the Ambulatory Care Complex.

If they are going the full restoration rout.. Most of the stone work will have to be remade.. I imagine that will take some time to reproduce.

I hope this is why we are not seeing a lot of progress.. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that they don't go the cheap stucco, imitation, restoration rout.

In one of the public meetings the architects said that they are going to try to come up with a way to incorporate the bank building ceiling into the new PAC. I think an ideal location would be the "atrium" walkway that will connect Regent St to Main St. The concept of this walkway is that it will be located between the PAC lobby and the 111 lobby. Allowing easier access from the parking garage to the office building and PAC, as well as another midblock connection of sorts.

For those of you that have never seen it and are wondering why many of us want to keep it here it is.

Thanks Future Mayor for the posting of that Ceiling Pic. Being that it is a large pic, one can see how elaborate and ornate the workmanship is. It would be a tragedy if they were to destroy such an historic piece of decorative structural art. Put to it's proper use and involvement with the UPAC, think how many more people will be able to enjoy it's incredible beauty. I can see all the craning necks and upward gaze of the crowds now.
