Have you ever played one? (Serious question in no way sarcastic)

If you have, you'll notice how the main idea is that the game is based in the present, and that you access the "animus" which is a machine that checks your genes for memories of your ancestors and transports you to them. So you bounce back between one world (real one) and another (memories, in this case 1700s pirate era).

That's apparently the view from Abstergo's HQ (the company that created the animus) and since Ubisoft is based in Montreal.....Well, you know the rest.

Edit: frenchcanadian3 beat me to it

Actually reminds me of San Francisco for some reason... you can see how big the downtown core is.. clearly the second largest city in Canada I wish it was more clear tho.

Sorry guys, I'm old as sin. Probably old enough to be your dad.

However,

I've been hearing things about GTA5 , might have to finally pick up a console for the first time in 30 years, just to play that game.

Inded, this pic shows very well how expansive Mtl's downtown is. Thanks for the find.

That large Mtl aerial is nice - sharp and on focus would have been fantastic

Ubisoft is based in Montreal, so they take the opportunity to shoehorn it in as much as possible.

Part of Ottawa's Elgin Street skyline, with two shinny new building (150 Elgin aka Performance Court and 90 Elgin aka Lorne 2.0).

Something I don't like about Performance Court is that white block right behind the spire. My guess is it's a mechanical roof or emergency staircase? In any case, it's really bad and inconsistent. Not sure what they were thinking.
