Bluish green glazing very good...then white spandrel up the middle and sides! For me this really takes from the overall look of the tower!!

City moves quickly on reconstruction

Edmonton Journal

Friday, November 08, 2013

Fewer Edmonton neighbourhoods will likely be ripped up next year after the city set a strong pace for reconstruction projects in 2013.

There were 12 neighbourhoods where reconstruction of streets, sidewalks, curbs and lights was underway or completed this year, Byron Nicholson, special projects director for roads design and construction, said Thursday.

In total, work was completed at 104 locations, 1 including smaller jobs such as paving and asphalt sealing, he said.

"A lot of work was done. We have to thank Mother Nature for the weather the last few months."

In 2014, he expects to have about the same budget as the $176 million spent this year, although he's not sure crews will fix as many locations.

The two-year reconstruction process will start in Cromdale, Glenora and Laurier Heights, and wind up in Argyll, Delton, Grovenor, Hazeldean and North Glenora.

^^ from that angle I actually like how the white breaks up the looks... but from the east and west it is a bit heavy.

Im concerned.
There is none.

Left is 'Central' and will be built adjacent to the most northern low-rise.

THe other will be built west of the southern 2.

I swear the Edmonton thread has a joke of the day feeling to it.

Thought some of you might find this informative seeing as though it is being asked about on C2E and often comes up with infill projects.

I have been reading the forums and scrolling through the site for a while now, and I noticed the Edmonton construction thread doesn't seem up to date...in regards to the pictures of all the proposals and what not. For example, the pearl is still listed as approved. Is there someone that updates the proposals every so often? If not is there a link to all the up to date proposals? Thanks for the help, cheers
There's a more up to date version here: http://www.connect2edmonton.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=24031 (but its still a year out)

Talk about a clusterf**k.

I'd rather see Central built and nothing after that instead of that random Eurotrash complex. The original plan was so great, sad what CP has transformed into.

Good. Even though I didn't mind the earlier version with the full streetwall.
