Honestly, the last thing I want to do is to kick someone when they're down.

My opinion is that substance abuse is not a sign of moral bankruptcy or even poor judgment. It is a health issue. Drug use is fine IMO, but when you continue to use it despite consequences, I think it becomes problematic use (or abuse). Even if he does not regularly use crack cocaine, binge drinking to the point where you are amenable to using such hard drugs suggests that at the very least he has a drinking problem.

The right thing for Ford to do would have been to apologize (which he did), resign, and seek professional help.

Also, he needs to lose some weight. That's not a fat joke. He is morbidly obese, and unless it is due to some genetic issue, he needs to get treatment for that, too. Addiction comes in many forms -- not just drugs. Food addiction is a serious problem, especially in North America.

The Iron Sheik is challenging him to arm wrestle?

This just keeps getting more and more awesome. It's like we're living in a 'Family Guy' episode.

This piece gets it right:

"If you elect a clown, you don’t get to act surprised when the circus comes to town."

Yes! This resume it pretty well: "The most surprising thing Rob Ford has ever done isn’t his belated admission that he has smoked crack cocaine. It’s the fact he became mayor of Toronto in the first place."

All this needs now is Rob Ford to make a damning accusation on Doug. Oh I don't know, something like asking Doug to admit to the — assaults as a child or something.

Who knows what he's ranting about (it could legitimately be his "match" with hulk hogan I guess). But whoa is he ever coked out of his mind. He can't stay still for a second.

Not that anyone's going to notice that, it's Edmonton we're talking about here. Though not quite as progressive as Iveson or Nenshi, we had a fairly progressive mayor that just completed a 9 year run and kickstarted many new Edmonton projects like the new AGA, new RAM, Arena District, LRT expansion, more infill growth, etc.

It's difficult to tell, the video is too short, too vague. But it's not the Hogan match. Part of the rant is Robbie-boy's anger at someone calling him and Doug liars?

Yeah I don't really think it is either - his mind probably just goes to sports metaphors of any kind. I think he's just really coked up and going in a million places at once. I've seen similar rants - minus the violence. This isn't the smoking — some people thought originally.

That being said, it's a sad state of affairs when a video showing your mayor to be a ranting derelict isn't that big of a deal...
