I'm probably Calgary's version of Habfanman or Gibbroni already. At least I am a significant contributor to the forum though, and can recognize when I'm being an idiot and stop myself, very much unlike them.

Wow some of those pics are way out of date! The one of Calgary is like 5 years old, and Regina's is at least 3 years!

Good shots though! That one of Mississauga is probably the best shot I've seen of that skyline.

I don't understand this Calgary complex..

The city is growing and building, what's there to have a complex about? Hip-hip hooray, you're heading the right way!

If anything I can understand a complex or stigma coming from someone living in a struggling rust belt city like for example my hometown Windsor, where we're not growing, not building and frankly not a lot of people really give a $%*@ about our city.

So relax Calgary.

The Calgary and Regina shots are from 2010, I think. Windsor is from 2011. Mississauga and Toronto are from 2011 or 2012. Ottawa is 2012. Hamilton, Montreal, Vancouver and Winnipeg are from 2013. Halifax is 2010. I wish I had gotten a shot of Edmonton skyline when I was there earlier this year, but the weather prevented it.

I commented specifically on the Regina and Calgary ones because they are the two(other than Toronto of course) that have seen major skyline changes(both have a new tallest) since those pics, that's all.

I don't blame them....too much city vs city. The more success cities have...the more bragging that takes place, leading to snotty remarks being returned, leading to more bragging, pretty soon it's a vicious circle with no end.

Someone had mentioned in an earlier post that they visited Calgary and it didn't live up to the hype....... I believe that could be an unfortunate side effect of spending too much time in the Canada section. After a while here, you'll either hate the rest of the cities, or they'll be so hyped up that when you visit them they're a let-down.

I haven't been participating in this any more than any of the other people in it, nor did I start or escalate it. If anyone did the escalating it was KW making personal insults. It seems like I'm the only one trying to stop it. Hence how I'm the only one who has posted any photos on this entire page so far. Obviously you didn't read the conversation, so why automatically place blame on me?
