It really is. The lobby/ground floor area is really beautiful. Almost as grand as the Royal York in Toronto or Hotel Vancouver, but you can really tell how much smaller Calgary was than those 2 cities at the time. Toronto was about 600 000, Vancouver about 170 000, Calgary was only about 50 000. I'm not 100% sure about the Fairmont at CCII, it was stated on the Calgary section, and the poster said it as if he was sure of himself, so I'll go with that. It could just be a rumour though, but it would make sense to me. Look at how beautiful the front will be! It has to be Fairmont!

I definitely see a rebranding of the Palliser if this old rumour of City Centre being a Fairmont is true. I don't see Choice label but, maybe a Hilton or even Conrad or Waldorf.

Yeah, but its Bazis .

Can't get excited just yet. Next thing you know their financing falls through and Great Gulf has to take over...

Or the DRP gets their hands on this one.

you can't get rid of the OMB even if you wanted to, so no worries about that. DRP is useful sometimes for designs such as 501 yonge..

The balconies suck (like One Park Place) and the rendering doesn't give any indication what the material is. Promising and totally unexpected.

525 ft. for a 58-storey building. Sounds barebones.

That does sound overly short. Telus Sky is 58 floors and is exactly 200 feet taller than that. It is mixed use though so the higher office floors certainly have an effect on that.

58 floors in Yorkville should clear 210 meters.

I believe Fairmont is out of the City Centre project - will be another hotel brand.

One Yorkville in the Toronto diagram has an estimated height of 210 meters... I'm working on a drawing now.

8 foot ceilings are 2.65 metres slab to slab. 525 feet is possible with 8 foot ceilings including retail level heights and a decent mechanical. Who builds 8 foot ceilings anymore.

Where did the 210 meter number come from?

Not that I think this one will be 525 feet ...

Comes from whoever is in charge of adding new buildings to the Toronto database.

Yes; but that doesn't mean that InnVest, the owner, needs to keep it as a Fairmont.

It wouldn't be the first 4-star Clarion (even the Calgary Airport Clarion gives itself 3-stars).

It is highly unlikely Calgary will have 2 Fairmonts. Fairmont would not have sold off the property to a REIT if they intended to continue running it long-term
