Have any of you heard of or tried the new Chocolate Lucky Charms? It's really good. Takes me back to the days of Count Chocula.

So Bunt, before I let the "What the hell is wrong with the idiots in CO not letting mail in ballots for an election!!!!" tell me if that's actually true as I just read it or if that's not quite what went on?

Also how in the world did Colorado Springs have a democrat in the first place? Was it really West COS and Manitou that elected him?

My question is how a Democrat got taken out be a Republican in Pueblo? Was she really that disliked?

Oh well, I expect to see plenty of recall elections in the future as special interests work to circumvent general election results with special elections.

Mail ballots were allowed, although I do not know whether this could have been operated as an all mail ballot election. Probably not, special elections have different rules, and they wouldn't have had the time to do the mail ballot procedures. In any case, I'd have to do more digging regarding when the petitions were submitted because we just had a major overhaul to the elections law. So it might've come in under the old rules or the new. But either way, I know my brother voted by mail because he was in Chicago yesterday. So it was possible.

Yes, he was the Manitou/west side/downtown guy. District also included central and east/southeast Colorado Springs. Demographically, not unlike Arapahoe County/Aurora probably. Not a slam dunk Republican seat by any means (he was the Senate President, after all).

—, obviously. I think the legislation they passed was stupid, pointless, and invasive too. If I were voting down there, I would've voted against the recall, but only because I think recalls are the wrong answer and elections have consequences. If I wasn't voting on that principle, though - if I was actually voting based on their policy views - I'd have voted them out too. Democrats have seriously overreached this session, and wasted their political capital on some truly meaningless measures (15 round magazines? Really?). They feel invincible - half of Denver doesn't even believe that a Republican could get elected in Colorado because they haven't been here long enough to remember anything but blue. Well, guess what, the reckoning is coming.

I also do think Hick is vulnerable if the GOP can find one candidate, anybody, who isn't downright terrifying.

EDIT: Frankly, I want the Republicans back in control of at least one chamber. The elections bill that the Dems rammed through is an absolute nightmare. It has to be the most shoddy piece of legislation ever written, and working with it this election cycle is costing me hundreds of hours that would be better spent on more productive endeavors. It's about as coherent as many of our forum discussions - the overarching principle is right, but that's about as far as it goes.

I looked at the data from where that factor was derived and discovered that it was off due to mixing city-level population growth with county level. The factor should be 3-4 depending on the publication year of the forecast used, not 11.

He can't look at anything logically when it comes to Pweeblo and has latched onto the big number as the irrevocable truth. Of course, I let myself get sucked into trying to correct the mistake. —.

Has anyone been to the Dunkin' Donuts on Broadway, yet?

They're opening a location by Sloan's Lake and one in Boulder. I'm so excited.

I used to work at one in high school back in the Great State of Texas.

Why in god's name would you engage Eeyore?

Anyway, here's the post he's quoting, and here's the preceding one with the numbers. Of course he's doing his usual thing and conveniently forgetting whatever he doesn't want to hear. The projection for Pueblo that 11x number was based on is 256,000 in 2040. He cannot use the 11x numbers to conjure up imaginary math inflating the number beyond that. You can tell him I say it is is 256,000, and if he's going to claim any number other than that then I retract my earlier 11x statement and proclaim that he can't use it anymore. But I sure as hell am not going to go over there and tell him myself.

As I said. Me=—. Yep, that's the conversation that I drudged up. What I noticed is that the forecast numbers for Pueblo are for the county, not the city. The demographic office does not do forecasts at the municipal level. Since that's the case, you have to use the historical census county population numbers for the rates. Given that the county has a larger population, the factor of 11 is incorrect and should be lower. — (me) decided to point this out. Eeyore was unable/unwilling to comprehend.

I agree with Eyeore that 11 people will move to Pueblo in the next 30 years. No more, no less; anyone who thinks he meant or said or even implied that more than 11 people are moving there are not understanding his numbers correctly.

Need a place to vent.

The writers at KSL.com here in Salt Lake are very one sided. And I'm to a point of being disgusted.
Today they went ahead a brag about how we here in Utah are one of the only places where we don't have school shootings thanks to our — friendly state. http://www.ksl.com/?sid=28390054&nid=148&fm=most_popular&s_cid=popular-5 And yet they dare to write this story right after we had not one but TWO cases of murder-suicides this week along.

Yes, we may not had have any major school shooting per say, but yet our forming from the mouths — lovers at KSL will over look all the other events such as all the countless stories of kids taking their parents — ( that should of been locked up ) to school and all the many cases of kids getting shot and even killed by their parents — after getting into them. You know the — that should be there to protect these families a lot of times is what kills them. — are good? Yea right!!!

Utah needs to be more like Colorado and tighten up on our — laws. Welcome to Utah, where we allow ANYBODY and their dogs to have a —.
Sorry Mormons, but the 1800's are over. Nobody is going to break into your homes to then drag you out to the streets to then tar and feather you. You all need to get over what happen back then. You don't need all those — sitting in your basement or garage as if you about to go to war. I'm so disgusted that every time we end up having to burying our dead kids due to — violence all I hear from a lot of our Mormon republicans is their — rights.
I never hear any sorrow from them about how 20 kids were just killed at a school shooting or that some nut job wanted to die so he killed his/her own kids before killing themselves. "They will never take my — away" or "If I was there I would of gone all Rambo on their —" Yea, ok. keep talking tough — owners. Trying to take down a shooter isn't like shooting tin cans at a shooting range.
There's plenty of us that are not afraid of our own shadows and we enjoy life each day without hiding behind a — like some coward.

We in Denver were very much of the "it can't happen here," mind frame, until the April 20, 1999, Columbine Massacre.

We, too, live in a geographically isolated city, and, have tended through the years to feel like the quality of our people, our governments, and, beauty of our land somehow made us immune to mass killings.

We had largely put that horror behind us when James Holmes killed 12 and injured 70 at the Aurora Century Movie Theatre, July 20, 2012.

While we are not quite as naïve anymore, the price of learning has been too high.

I would not wish this kind of **** on anybody: it can happen anywhere.
