Just looks like a 70 meter shorter, 1/5 the size Montreal! Which it basically is the West's version of Montreal. It may not have a French majority but a large (by western standards) French minority, it's the 4th oldest city in the west (after Victoria, New Westminster, and Gastown[Vancouver]), has the largest per capita amount of heritage structures, and a similarly composed primary core.
True Chad, but unfortunately that shot does not showcase Winnipeg's Heritage buildings the way almost any shot of Montreal showcases their varied building types.
For sure. That's the 2nd major difference (the other obviously being population), that Winnipeg never built any tall historic skyscrapers, the tallest being the Fort Garry Hotel at 59 meters.
disclaimer: I'm not trying to start a MTL vs. Winnipeg debate, this is just personal observation.
Yeah, it became what we know now as College Park. Still a nice building
Here's a snap I took of Lethbridge yesterday! In the foreground are two naturally occurring glacial erratic's brought down from the Rockies during the last glacial event. they sit at the top of the Oldman River Valley.
