Straight laced Calgary could never be as wacky as Dubai. In some ways that's a good thing cause Dubai has a lot of tacky shit. But in others I'm always disappointed we don't do something more daring with all the oil money in this city. The Bow is the closest we've come so far, and they neutered a good portion of it.

There are at least a dozen condo highrises on that pic with faux chateau top that falls into the pomo or semi-pomo style. They are not as dominant in the skyline as are the giant office buildings, but if you enlarge the pano and watch it full screen from one end to the other, yes, you notice them well enough. Also the Dubai reference, not meant to be taken so seriously, refered to the concentration of towers in the core with a flat skyline and landscape right outside the core.
