I recall going to an open house there over a year ago and pretty sure the foundation for building two was already poured back then.

Foundation is poured, it's filling with weeds and makes a good spot to dump garbage (by the looks of it). Feel for those who bought condo's in the first building and have to overlook the eyesore.

I wonder if the "Superstore" lot in front of the Wal-Mart is ever going to be developed. The store seems to get announced and then postponed every few years.

Earlier this summer when I was at the Selkirk BP for lunch there was a for sale sign on the lot again.

Selkirk is perfect for shindico and shindico is perfect for Selkirk.

Sky Condo site is still contaminated. Even after $2M of site remediation.

The contamination below the building actually moves back and forth.

Now with the building flooding causing permanent damage. The clean-up not even finshed.

New Hotel blocking the river views.

Congrats on living there. On top of a toxic waste dump.

I'm not going to comment on the contamination portion of the message, but I don't think Exchange residents mind having a view very partially blocked if it means more residents, amenities, and a greater feeling of safety and vibrancy in the neighbourhood.

Are you talking about the water main break?

I certainly don't, I'd love to see Sky surrounded by buildings taller than it. I was actually disappointed with how short the hotel and Sky 2 ended up being.

Just got back from vacation and the Galpern (Porter) building has some people working on their roof that I can see from my office. Anyone know if that building got sold and/or is scheduled for redevelopment.

Sorry if this was discussed, but there are 20 extra pages of posts since I last logged in.

i wonder how many signature you would get if you posted a petition for those in support of the project just beside this one...

Haven't heard any mention of this - thanks for posting.

This is such a prominent building in the East Exchange streetscape that it needs to be brought back to life in the worst way possible... I can't believe that it has been sitting dark for a decade already.

A restaurant or retail space on the main level with either offices or condos above would be absolutely perfect.

The writing style seems like Michael Mark of M2 Engineering (he used to post on here in that exact same style).

Would make sense considering the lackluster support H2O has been receiving on this site. Funnily enough when I went for a walkthrough of H2O the realtor used the same snarky remark about the Sky builders building a hotel to block their condos views.

Also, the comment was made right after we were discussing H2O (including a not-so-positive reference to sales numbers by me). Interesting.

If it is him it would be interesting to know where things stand at H2O. While sales at least seemed to suck, I figured apartments would do quite well.

Very bright and colorful, His article today showed the Donald side of the build on the opposite side of the color spectrum.Quite the contrast. I find the parking lot photo on Hargave more exciting.
