Finally got a full look at the aA proposal for Cityplace's Signature Tower

Two rectangular towers rising from an 8 story podium with two bridges connecting the floors around 45 stories up in an X shape.

One tower has white cladding at the lower level and black on top whilst the other one is black at the bottom and white at the top - with the bridges being the dividing line.

There's red accents on the buildings as well - in fact when I saw it first I thought it looked similar to Picasso

Any idea of their total heights? Or their floor counts at least?

Well he didn't contradict what we've been hearing about two 60 floor plus towers (possibly as tall as 70 floors) which I guess is good news.

The fact that the skybridge starts at the 45th floor makes me believe they will be on the higher end of the height scale.

We've been told that the Signature Towers will be approx 66 stories and 70 stories in height with big roof features. No word on height, but an insider on Urban Toronto "estimated" they would be in the 750-800ft range (230-245m).

I believe it was 60/63 in that proposal.

And like I say it's an old proposal from aA dated June 2012

Thanks for clearing that up.

This is a year old proposal that you finally saw, which was submitted to the developer.

We still don't know what the approved tower will look like, yet.

As I said, on urban Toronto a guy who saw the recent plan quoted the floor count at 66 and 70 floors.

Wasn't this originally marketed to be Canada's tallest residential tower? Are they going to follow up on that claim or are they doing some serious back pedaling? I bet they're hoping people's memories are too short to remember.

Still I rreally hope it goes through. Its great to see other cities get in on that action. Would love to see a 200m in Edmonton, and 150m in Halifax too.

BTW, Love the massing but not a fan of those blank walls. Winnipeg is like opposite of Vancouver, it actually NEEDS more glass in its skyline.

Because glass is not so efficient when you have -60 in winter or +40 in summer. Lots of glass on a large scale does not really make sense in Winnipeg. People also need to pay attention to the surrounding climate and environment, which often they don't because future energy bills are often the last thing people look at when purchasing a new unit.
