The circle at Killam and Collishaw seems to be coming along nicely.

Cannot wait for Mary Browns...love, love, love their taters.

As far as Big League...another burger joint? Sigh...

So excited that Kurts will have a store again...used to love their store on St. George.

I wish a "Smokes Poutinerie" would open here, based out of PEI, tried it in Fredericton last weekend and it's awesome...think it would be huge here.

Try it, you'll like it! It is a clone of Five Guys and does a good job at it.....

I'll take your word for it. I don't have much experience with Kurt's, but porchmouse seems excited.

Smoke's likely would do well here, they have franchises in a number of different cities including Halifax and St. John's. I was at a Leafs preseason game at the Air Canada Centre two days ago and there was a Smoke's outlet on the 300 level concourse. If Smoke's ever came to Moncton though, I think it would belong downtown. The bar crowd would love it.........

The one in Fredericton is right downtown, and stays open for the bar crowd. If they open one here, I hope it's under different management though. They keep the music so loud in the Fredericton store that you can barely hear yourself to order.

I agree, try it, you will probably like it.

And for those that have not tried this, those wing sauces are great on the burgers too. I personally enjoy the blue cheese on my burgers. I will definitely be back and try the BBQ, Honey BBQ, ranch and others on my burgers.

Moncton location will be opening October 12, 2013 pending any further delays. This was provided by both an Employee and the Owner.

Klozet Clothing Boutique is now open.

Facebook photo

Apparently they concentrate on private label and exclusive-to-market brands and thus will be a rather unique store. The inside of the store seems rather avant-garde. I wish them well.

This store will complement Cara Shoes next door quite well.......

Request for variance for a new development in Magnetic Hill Estates to allow for "semi-detached dwellings in an MU-1 zone".

Request for variance to allow construction of a new private Montessori school and daycare facility on Ryan Street, not far from Northrup Frye School.

Note that Kingswood Academy is currently located on Hildegarde Street adjacent to the Lutheran Church. Given this relocation, they are either growing out of space in their current campus or are disaffiliating themselves from the Lutheran Church. I have no idea which one is correct......

Final paving work is ongoing this week on Berry Mills Rd between Horsman and Edinburgh. This will finally provide us with two inbound lanes on Berry Mills Rd the entire way, with a new turning lane into the MID Industrial Park at Edinburgh Dr.

This is something they should have done three years ago when they widened Horsman and built the new entrance into the MID West Industrial Park.

In the meantime, expect delays on Berry Mills Rd for the next week.

That's the route my school bus takes to school... Hopefully they decide to re-route because I don't wanna be stuck in traffic... Should be a big improvement after it is all finished though!

The tiled walls and checkered borders are the same (even if they chose to add blue tiles at BL). The kitchen layout is virtually identical. The menu board is a veritable carbon copy. Even the items are named the same - no effort to change "little burger" to "small" or even use "single" and "double" burgers instead. Heck, even the stacking of potatoes in the store front. ALL are lifted from the Five Guys trade dress image.

It appears the only 'original' idea that was their own was the wings and the 'sports' theme. But as these are the same owners of "Sport Rock" in Dieppe, that's hardly a stretch.

I'm guessing the only reason open shelled peanuts are not being served at BL is to prevent an outcry from people with peanut allergies.
I love Five Guys Burgers, but I think Big League is ''over-the-top'' copied, kinda tacky if you ask me. Then again, this is the best kind of flattery.

I will try those burgers and I will see how they compare, I've been to at least a dozen locations in the US and will see how this copycat measures up.

I don't know if it's someone from Five Guys or someone else, but they were ''called-out'' right on the Big League facebook page... I wonder if Five Guys takes notice of this establishment, if they could close them down for trademark issues?. Dunno?
