a Pedestrian overpass on a road that has a dozen or so street lights on it, a hair pin turn, and passes through Edmonton's largest pedestrian corridor (Whyte) at grade....sounds about right...

I always get excited looking at plans like these...and then I see the expected date of completion.

Cost of pedway linking LRT to Expo Centre estimated at $30M

Alexandra Zabjek
Edmonton Journal

Friday, August 16, 2013

A pedway connecting the Coliseum LRT station with the Edmonton Expo Centre could cost $30 million, a city report says.

Money wouldn't be available for the project until the 2015-2017 capital budget, at the earliest.

The capital budget is locked until the end of 2014, said Quinn Nicholson, an LRT communication officer for the city. A future city council would have to approve the pedway...

Pearl is looking good, might end up a bit busy looking when done, but still a solid addition!

Are there many more towers planned in Oliver so that this tower doesn't dominate the area so much?

I bet the people who will move in will absolutely love how it dominates the skyline as they will get some phenomenal views! Someone should post some pictures from the top.

It will be typical construction. The Swedish jewellers facade is not original or historical facade. The original moser rider facade was badly damaged. All options were looked at and the current plan is to build something to go with the brick on the Kelly Buildig.
