It's not the glass that bothers me, it's the beige precast.

I would cite a couple improvements: no blank walls on the street, retail in Rideau at grade, no awkward walk up like there is for National Bank.

The colour is a lot nicer also other than the previously mentionned improvements the balconies are all glass which gives it a more modern touch in comparison to the steel rails of the 1 and 2.

Not to mention the insides of most units are likely to be better finished than 1 and 2 as claridge drastically reduced upgrades as they had to compete with the finishings of the other up and coming condos.

I for one am happy with these changes atleast its not 4 completely identical tours.

If CP I and II where a 4/10, I call this one a 6/10. A marked improvement but still way off the mark.

Agreed. It's a 6/10 on its own but as a group of 4 towers in a very prominent location I give it a 1/10. Claridge gained some points with TriBeCa, but I don't know if it makes up for Lebreton and CP1-4.

Went by these last week. I thought the new CP towers were 28 stories, yet they BARELY look any taller than the 25 storey ones next door. Was hoping for a more noticeable difference.

The glass balconies are a HUGE improvement over the white railings used in the first two buildings. Much nicer buildings.

They may be glass but they are still tiny....way too small.

Thanks for fixing the photographs (smaller size). It sort of looks like an evolution of CP I & II to something slightly more modern (or what CP I and II would look like if "modernized" if they were 30 years old).

They are a definite improvement with, as stated earlier, more modern materials and a slimmer figure but it is still disappointing seeing 4 nearly identical bland and blander towers.

Your welcome! It was driving me crazy too haha. If they build CP V&VI across the street in the same style I'm going to move away from Ottawa, as I've stated before :p

Don't worry, it might get a little stale around VII and VIII, but they'll really hit their stride with CP IX and will cruise right through to VL

Slimmer, taller, more glass and less precast. Still looks Mississauga BA (before Absolute).

May I dare to say that I like designs of Plaza I and II? I am not talking specs, interior etc, I am just a passerby... What I really dislike is that Plaza III and IV are very similar in disign to the first phase builidings. It's like if NY has 4 Empire State Buildings beside each other

The only building in Ottawa that should be mentioned in the same breath as the Empire Sate Building is the Merit.

I'm not a huge fan of any of the 4, but the mordern touches on 3 & 4 are an improvement. But so is putting lip stick on a pig.
