What I find impressive is how there are so few angles from which you can really capture every major tower downtown. It's really difficult to get everything in one shot.

I LOVE Los Angeles........but.......fuck is the downtown area scary, especially the older warehouse historic building area.....

The Los angeles skyline is actually larger than it looks. It has an Edmonton style skyline that stretches for miles before you get into the main skyline. You just dont notice all of the other 20 - 30 storey buidlings because of the 9 giant buidlings. I find that many US cities seem to have a couple giant buildings that throw the scale of their downtowns off and were built at a time when street life was not important. Showing off how much money and power each company had took precedent over street life with with many downtowns.

One thing I really like about Calgary's skyline is the density of buildings.

Miami has really improved in the last ten years, San Francisco will improve with Transbay. I'd consider Seattle's better than any of the ones you listed.

No, NYC would be a Nimitz Class supercarrier. Chicago would be... a Charles De Gaul class aircraft carrier.

Tokyo doesn't really have a great skyline. They'd be like a Invincible Class aircraft carrier

A city having tons of people has never meant that it automatically has a big and beautiful skyline. Tokyo has tons of buildings, but only a few dozen that rise above the sea of mid-rise stuff.

I personally consider a sea of midrises with a few taller clumps sticking out to be the best looking of all skyline options.

Agreed. Tokyo and London looks futuristic because of all the layers. Dubai is the opposite. North America is somewhere in between.
