Poor Suncor ... It's going to get completely overtaken with the rise of 225 6th and Telus Sky, and the already existing Bow surrounding it.

Not too long ago, it was the 30 year reigning tallest. After Telus Sky and 225 6th are built, it will only be the 4th tallest building within a one block radius of itself.

I'd like to add that Telus Sky is what "mixed use" ought to look like. Too often we see office/retail labeled as "mixed use". Offices and retail spaces are both places of business; they are practically the same use. Mixed use ought to include residential and perhaps even an institutional use (ie firestation, school). Sustainable practices arise when developers narrow the gap between the number of daytime tenants and nighttime residents in the community.

Awesome work CAD! Funny how all our highrises have the same orientation of their widest side. I guess it will still help that Sky is skinnier than anything else from the east and west.

Also, this really helps me visualize where everything is going. For some reason in my mind I thought that 225 6th was a block south of the Art Central site.

^ At least Bankers and EAP are "rotated" the other way. Gives a nice contrast.

I think we have decent variety in the orientation of the twins. Some are east-west, some are north-south, some are rotated 90 degrees from each other, some are at a 45 degree...
The problem is just that we have too many twins! lol

I agree .. 9th Ave is becoming twin tower row! Husky Tower, EAP, Bankers Hall, and soon the new Palliser buildings by the Calgary Tower

With diminishing vacant blocks in the city though, Telus Sky will lead the new generation of "infill" skyscrapers seeing old buildings in section of blocks get demo'd... Tall, lean buildings that will rely on unique design to make their mark

That's why I like EC3 because while it's a twin tower design, it's skybridge linking the two give it a completely radical style of twin towers in the city, not making it look like a twin at all

^ Gorgeous shot of future downtown ... Excited to see these new two tallest rise up above the rest

On top of that I'm excited to see:

- The skyline view from the east as Brookfield/Telus Sky rise along with the East Village towers and the Guardian
- The skyline view from the Stampede grounds as those lots around Macleod Tr across from the grounds and 12th Ave get built up in the foreground with Brookfield/Telus Sky rising in the background
- The skyline view from the west as 3EC, Mark on 10th and other west Beltline projects all rise up

Exciting times indeed .. This city will look radically different by 2018
