$155 million? that seems crazy expensive!

I think that price includes the significant road realignment that's necessary as well as demo and removal of the existing bridge. It was also the lowest bid received, which was above the City's estimate.

We'll be two minutes from the Goldbar ravines too so that'll be nice for the dogs. It's definitely a nice neighborhood.

I've been to Hilltop, not bad for a pint and some grease. Love the building. Haven't tried Dallas yet. I often look at that little stretch of 106 Ave. and think it has a lot of redevelopment potential. As it is, it's very underutilized, especially given how unnecessarily enormous the avenue is there.

I managed to get a two-bedroom basement suite in Hazeldean for 900 a month lease. Building is 40 years old, me thinks. Closer to the LRT will add a hundred dollars to the monthly.

There's little infill project on 106 Ave that I'm working on right now...stay tuned.

Basement suites definitely seem a lot easier to find right now, that's for sure. After this last heat wave, I've been re-thinking my choice to go apartment rather than basement.

Is there an LRT component to this bridge? I thought I saw something about that type of bridge a while back...

^ Nope. Millwoods LRT line will be further east, with the river crossing near Louise McKinney Park. It's replacing the footbridge that's there now.

The city should spend $5.3 million to replace the Commonwealth Stadium Jumbotron and sound system before major soccer events come to Edmonton, a report recommended Thursday.

The speaker cluster hanging over centre field and the Jumbotron scoreboard at the north end of the stadium were installed in 1999, when the high-tech scoreboard needed for the 2001 world track championships cost $6.2 million. Both systems are now nearing the end of their 15-year working lives and replacement parts are no longer available. "Should the systems fail, the city's ability to support major events will be compromised, as neither system is currently supported by (its) respective manufacturer," the report says...

Condo owners at Century Park now have a farmers market they can walk to on Sundays.Customers at Refinery Clothing and Who Cares Wear locations can pick up bargains as local boutiques launch summer sales.

Just when we thought Sundays were for lazing around the house, in comes yet another Sunday market to keep us busy shopping.

This one's at Century Park, right by the transit centre, LRT and high-density housing developments that manager Patrick Moffat hopes will bring in the crowds.

So far, he's starting small, averaging between eight and 10 vendors each Sunday since he opened June 2, but the season is still young. Look for sellers of crafts, produce and fish among the vendors at this market...

TELUS is building a new tower in Vancouver, now Calgary, maybe Edmonton is next?

Now hear me out lol, rumor has it that a major telecom company was looking to build in the arena district. Katz recently had a tower proposal at the EDC for a pre-consultation presentation and Staples is now closing their store........hmmmmmm.

I see Edmonton's tallest coming, a 200 m tower leased by TELUS going up with them also taking the arena name, TELUS Place or TELUS Gardens
