True, but the primary destination for that station is the University of Ottawa. Creating a bilingual name would be very cumbersome without the uOttawa format. That is definitely my preferred name (second choice: Sandy Hill-uOttawa).
I like changing Train to Tremblay, too vague for that name. Tremblay-VIA also works.
As for the western extension, I'd name them:
Westboro (per #2 below)
Dominion -->
Highland Park (per #2 below)
Cleary -->
McKellar (or McKellar Park, per #2 below, but two consecutive stations with "Park" may not be ideal)
New Orchard -->
Woodroffe (per #4 below, no obvious community name, closest to Woodroffe Avenue)
Lincoln Fields (per #2 below)
Iris (per #4 below, not the best name, but no other obvious one)
Baseline -->
Baseline-Algonquin (per #1 and #3 below, well known as Baseline, but should make Algonquin College more prominent, so appending is best IMO)
Priority order for naming IMO:
1) Important landmark in the area (i.e. major shopping mall, college/university, important point of interest like Parliament) - examples: St. Laurent, Carleton, uOttawa, Bayshore, etc.
2) Community name, if well known to the area - examples: Westboro, Hurdman, Lincoln Fields, etc. (Note: I propose changing some west end stations to that level)
3) Nearby major arterial road that sticks out - examples: Blair, Pinecrest, Baseline, etc.
4) If none of those are suitable, look for a minor arterial or collector road that is fairly well known - examples: Lees, Iris, Tremblay, etc.
5) If still no suitable name, consider historical factors or poll the community for clear landmarks (cannot be politically motivated!)
