^get on board with the DBA's planter program. You buy them, they deliver them and I believe the City waters them.

Even though the sidewalk extends right to the building I believe a good portion of it is on our property.
If its on your property you can do what you like.

Council approves airport expropriation
Takeover of City Centre site could be completed by October

Gordon Kent
Edmonton Journal

Thursday, June 20, 2013

The city could take possession of the City Centre Airport land by fall after councillors voted Wednesday in favour of an expropriation plan.

They've obviously got deep pockets. Between this, Edgewater and that lowrise on 123st they've probably got $250 million tied up in construction right now.

If they've only got 40 units sold that's pretty piss poor. Doesn't speak well to the "luxury" condo market

What does their price per square foot look like? You can buy into top end existing buildings at less than $600 a squarefoot - they can't be trying for much more than that can they?

40 units sold is a bit low, but hardly piss poor considering the prices.

2-3 units a month is quite good actually.

In and around $600. Upper units will have unparalleled views.

They were at 28 a year ago. So the sales rates have been falling

I think there has been a lot of hesitation given the length of construction....now that glass is going up and people can actually see what the finished product is going to look like I would assume sales will speed up.

That $/ft kind of product will always move slowly here, but steady as she goes and good point SHO.

And they're still a year from turnover so lots could happen.. and we all know that Edmontonians don't like pre-sales.. can't blame them for that

Wil make others take a long hard look at that market though. Still think that the entry level market is a much easier sell

If I was spending 900g's on a place and would want a pretty good idea of what the final product is going to look like. Renderings and a concrete skeleton wouldn't do.

/\ And yet Regency argued otherwise when they cut smaller units out of the original plans. However, that could be closer tied to $/sq.ft. they were charging vs. true smaller entry level units that the likes of fox and ultima are catering to.

That they don't. We're a patient 'build it and I'll believe it' market. Sales are fairly decent considering that the Edmonton market for $750k+ housing product is a slower sell.

^I believe I might have seen an initial image of this one... looked very Toronto and quite good. Supremely good location as well.
