What building downtown caught fire last night? The news reports I've been reading only say the intersection: 105th Avenue and 102nd Street.

10530 102 Street - that dumpy former autobody place across the street from the MacDonald's Consolodated building. I hate to see most buildings demolished, but good riddance.

Wasn't that the one property that held out from selling during the Aurora land assembly? I believe it was a legal non-conforming and so now it will be interesting to see if that property gets acquired.

^ The news said there's $1 mil in damage.. which is surprising for that abandoned building. So maybe an insurance scam, but I'd put my $ on faulty electrical, or arson. There's a lot of sketchy people hanging around that area at all times of the day.

KR fire was obviously very shady and most certainly a scam of some sort... this one, who knows.

According to CTV News' report, some transients were squatting in the building, and whatever they were using for keeping warm set off the fire by accident.

What a joke; I hope they never develop and someone steps in to buy the prime corner to erect something worth the spot.

No sh*t. I am sure any other developer can build something better than Procura's. What the hell...just by adding more Icon condo towers on that corner with similar retail podium, we'd be a lot happier already.
