I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this potential taller 'than the Bow' proposal wouldn't be much taller, and might only be taller because of a spire. Taller by 30' might be about right.
While I'm not crazy for spires when they're done poorly, that is a skyline element Calgary could definitely use to break up the boxiness. Any idea if that's the 72 story beast that BlueCypress keeps cryptically referring to?
A spire would be fantastic news. That's one thing that Calgary's skyline is really lacking. A couple spires on a skyline really create a metropolitan feel.
Hopefully true spire and not NYC antenna (which was a real shame)

Apparently there is an absolute plethora of proposals for Calgary that will be coming out in the coming months. Apparently moreso than was proposed/built for the unprecedented boom in 06-07.

Oh I read all that already, but only two projects were mentioned. I was talking about the vast number of proposals, not just the biggest ones.

That Boom pales in comparison to the early 80's boom.
I don't know about that, there were towers of 75, 66, 64, 2@63, and multiple 50 storey proposals in the 80's boom. Not bad for a city of 500,000 at the time.
