Anyone care to speculate on the fate of the South Devon and Alexander Gibson schools? South Devon would be a prime spot for some higher density residential development.

Devon South was also requested as a location for temporary French elementary school. I seem to recall that an official request to the District and Province had been made for such. Overcrowding at Ecole Ste Anne. I also recall that a new French school on the north side is now the top priority for the former District 18 now known as Anglophone West
Province is looking to sell the Alexander Gibson Memorial School for a $1 for a developer to retrofit the building into a retirement / nursing home. There was also thought of a mixed use for a community centre with the gym area and a Museum for Marysville's history for the rest. I see too much money for maintaining the building and upgrading for the Government to want to handle. As for South Devon, haven't heard much other than there were plans to flatten it and develop the land.
Here are the PAC development proposals for the April 17th meeting. Of note are development proposals for St Mary's (between Bowlen and Union), update on the Bowlen proposal, another Shannex development and Cliffe Streets.
Was on the northside today and noticed that Amazon spa and pools is open in the newest strip mall across from the brookside mall. Website says its 5000 sq feet, and just opened on the first of april.

For the variance for Shannex, is that a new 5 story building? I think the existing one (largest building) is only four? Isn't really clear in the proposal.
Just thought of it but that must be the "5 Story Hotel" mentioned in the Gleaner last week. They must have gotten the Shannex and Greenarm properties mixed up or something, not sure where the hotel came from though.

Yep...appears your right. Nice to see that area fill in though with development that fits the area
