According to the article, patrons pay a $5 cover charge and stay as long as they like.

I'm trying to remember the last time I played a board game. I'm not suggesting they aren't a good time but seriously, I couldn't tell you when or what it was.

I wish them well; a new concept is a tricky thing, however.

There's a place with a similar idea in Toronto, called Snakes & Lattes. It's constantly packed.

Now that being said, it's in a bit of a trendier neighbourhood, a bit denser population, etc if I'm remembering correctly. I'll probably stop in to check it out, get in a game or two.

Gameopolis will be opening at 223 King East, next to what was once Silver Snail Hamilton.

There used to be a Silver Snail in Hamilton? Neat. I really like Big B, but I wish I didn't have to go up the mountain or to Dundas for my nerdy needs.

I know what you meant, and I wasn't being literal about addiction! But what a good business model, given the passion for board games. Wonder how long it will take before there is the hard core of regulars and "their" tables?

That Silver Snail went under in the late 1980s/early 1990s, I believe. Was great while it lasted. Here's another layer to the neighbourhood's comic book cred.

I had McCartney and Son back during my last trip to Hamilton in February. I had a sandwich and soup and both were delicious and well priced. I definitely suggest it.

There's almost too much happening on James North to keep up with.

They've moved into the former Atlantic Fish location beside The Wild Orchid.

With the growth of restaurants in Jackson Sq. this could be an added bonus to the Farmers Market. Not to mention the grocery store.
Hopefully they feed (pun intended) off each other. Works has a local policy already.
