I swear there is an issue with that crane in the above image at the Diagnostic Imaging construction site. See how it looks like it is leaning in the photo. Nobody needs to comment about how the image could alter it's appearance through distortion. My comments are from seeing it first hand, the image just backs it up.

I was driving down William last week and immediately commented to my wife on how the tower crane appears to be leaning to the north. We actually pulled over and visualized the gap at the bottom of the building and the crane and near the top. Providing the building is not built on an angle the other way (which would have it's own set of issues) the crane is most certainly leaning to the north. Could this be to an over set counterweight? Could the recent fire have damaged it?

I have never seen a tower crane appear to lean the way this one does.

wow, tv that is a wicked shot. Unique angles relative to the ones we're used to seeing. Other towers are no were to be seen or hidden, whereas some towers that are usually hidden are much easier to be found

edit: tv, that pic would be a great one to demonstrate where future towers would be going to fill in the skyline

Nice! Drove by there last week to a large hole in the ground. Does anyone know if the parkade will be underground at all? Looked like the big hole was only for the low rise condo portion. Maybe just my perception.

I couldn't agree with you more Chris..

People think everything has to be shiny glass. Imagine if our fore fathers had this vision! The Exchange and many other OLD buildings would look like 🞵🞵🞵🞵. I understand people want a modern city, but it is nice to have a mix of everything.

But Yes, some of the APT's need a little work. But I sure do not want to see a city of Glass like Vancouver.

Btw, anyone know the restuarant in the Hotel at the HSC, I drove by the other day and it looks kinda upscale, either that or they just made it look really nice.

QUESTION-

this is from that Globe n Mail write up:

Office leasing costs for Class A space in downtown have doubled in some instances from about $15 or $17 a square foot to between $25 and $30, he says.

Now I remember before we were talking about the fact office space was not high enough to warrant another office tower-s. Is this high enough? Or do we still have a ways to go for it to be feasable to build one?

Different from the MPI lots. Fortress bought a parcel of land downtown with plans to build two condo towers. The site of the development has not been revealed yet, but the announcement came shortly after Centreventure's announcement about the St. Regis Hotel which has led some to believe that the development will be on the parking lots on Graham Avenue, beside the St. Regis Hotel.

Further in the same tweet, they say they're not talking about Winnipeg. That announcement in April. Which is in line with the Q2 time frame they gave recently.
