The North Major ASP contemplated a variety of large acreage subdivisions which doesn't meet the minimum density targets established under the CRB. So it needs to be updated.

Some interesting comments from Porter. Maybe at some point the North Terminal will be rebraded as the Q400 terminal with 3 airlines using it.

AC has already dropped the "planned" second daily YEG-YZF flight. Instead the one daily flight will now route YYC-YEG-YZF. Oh my, what a surprise.

YEG still see's it's daily routine of flights to Yellowknife via Canadian North, WestJet and Firstair...

So you can eliminate some of that capacity increase by Air Calgary. Lol... Sorry had to be said. Keep in mind AC is the only airline offering flights from Calgary to Yellowknife.

I don't see it as that big of a deal, at least their routing people from YYC through YEG haha.

The AC Flight to YK is not that popular. Most of us that travel to the true north use CN or FA. A lot of times you transfer on. Plus using the CRj has its problem. or a least the YK trip has its problems.

Saw on C2C that United is making some more capacity increases this summer from YEG:

EWR (Newark) goes to daily in June and July, from 6x weekly on A319
IAH (Houston) goes to 1.6 daily in August to 2x daily Sept-November

This along with mainline on the DEN route adds some good capacity from YEG. EWR is going to put some more pressure on AC for flights to Europe due to the good schedule to EWR. This route should do very well in the Summer for connecting people to Europe.

Sunwing also is introducing a flight to LAS in September and October.

Any other changes you guys note?

EWR is already showing signs of doing very well. A quick look at seats shows all the flights I've looked at being 80-90% full from May 2-20. That's extremely good for a route that hasn't even started flying yet!

Doesn't seem to be hurting ORD flights so far. My flight in May I just booked to Chicago is packed. And at 980$

I don't think it will in the short term. Until Air Canada gets some more aircraft

AC has mentioned it will use its 787's in Edmonton in a past news article, I'm assuming that will be to LHR. But maybe just maybe FRA. It'll be interesting to see if Icelandair will infact add YEG? That will be a game changer if it happens.you should know by August or so...

I have to comment on United Airlines because I cannot recall ever having a positive experience with them.
Outbound tranferred in YYZ to UA and coming back transferred in Ottawa to AC. Going they were 3 hours late and coming back 4.5 hours late. Coming back, the plane was 2.5 hours late getting to the gate, so it took 2 hours from when it arrived until we left, but their excuse was that since it was coming in from YYZ, the deplaning passengers had to go through US customes and we had to wait for all the passengers to clear customs. Two things came to my mind when that was announced, first we watched all the passengers deplane and arrive into the passenger lounge, and second, YYZ arriving passengers already cleared customs in YYZ.
Finally got on the plane and the lone flight attendant had no clue where the plane was going. She had no idea. "ladies and gentlemen, welcome to UA flight 4439 to .......... uhh," The best part, she did her safety orientation, and when she was done, maybe she noticed I wasnt paying attention, she walked up to me and said in a voice so other can hear, "can you tell me where the nearest emergency exit is located" my response was in an equally loud voice "yes, but not until you tell me where we are going?" Which made a few passengers laugh.

I have had the opposite, I have had nothing but the best experience with United so far (knock on wood) and prefer them over many other airlines.

I've flown them over 100 times in the year and consider them the best in the US as far as main carriers go. Sure they have their problems. But over all pretty good. That being said I prefer any Canadian carrier over them.

Agreed about United, but that is not saying much. I took United to SF and AC back... night and day.

Great to hear about Newark, my sister and hubby are booked on it and I hope to not be far behind.

If that is the case you could also have a different experience depending on which regional airline is operating the flights on behalf of United. SkyWest (out here in the west) has been very nice in past flights I've used with them operating.
