Just an update shot of St. John's two biggest projects currently under construction. Fortis Place in the back, and 351 Water Street in the foreground.

as much as I love the office portion of 351 water street, the parking garage is just SOO ugly

even if they could have removed 2 levels of the garage, it would have looked soo much better.

The office portion is great. The glass is something very unique and looks different in almost any lighting. The parking garage was originally planned to be 2 stories, but the city payed a few million to have 3 levels of public parking worked into the design.

While I agree the garage doesn't look very good now, it's far from finished. There will be lots of glass added. A glass wall with "351 water" written from top to bottom, a glass restaurant facing the harbour, glass columns and banners facing water street, and some glass placed in the empty spaces. I agree it looks bad now, but it's going to get a lot better so keep your eyes on the project over the next few months

L'Icone (42 floors +28 floors) is about 70% sold and is about to start construction.

The tallest project, the 52 floors Tour des Canadiens is sold-oout and should start construction anytime soon!

Tour des Canadiens is indeed 50 and there is no prep work on the Avenue site, they just fenced it.

The new residences at the Memorial University of Newfoundland (based on the old ones to their right):

Memorial University's Craig L. Dobbin Genetics Research Centre on the Health Sciences Centre grounds.

Pepperell's Landing and Bennett House developments in Pleasantville.

A new hotel going up in the middle of a big box development on Stavanger Drive in the east end of St. John's.
