so, 47 for the walnut tower is the floor count on those original renderings from back in 07. thats very tall and looks nice.

The floor height would have to be 13 ft to crack 600 ft.

That's actually within the relm of possibility since LEED certified office buildings generally have 15 foot floors.

This building will be LEED certified... meaning at least 13 foot ceiling heights. The building will probably be in the 600 ft range. For instance, Cira Center is LEED certified and it is 29 floors at 437 feet tall. Comcast Center is LEED Certified and 58 floors at 975 feet. LEED Certification does wonders

Where are you getting these numbers from? I think you are just getting them mixed up.

Cira Center (the one already built) has 29 floors and is 437 feet high.

Cira Center South (Chestnut Tower), which is going to be the residential portion of the Cira South Complex, will have 36 floors, but since it is a residential building, will likely only have 10 foot ceilings and will likely be in the 370 ft- 400 ft range.

Cira Center South (Walnut Tower), which is going to be the office portion of the Cira South Complex, will have 47 floors and will be LEED Certified, meaning AT LEAST 13 foot high ceilings. 13x47= 611.... and that's not including other factors such as floor slabs (usually 7 inches), and the slopping roof in the design. My guess is this building will be in the ~650ft range.

I knew I was missing something and you sorted it out quite nicely. I recently read Brandywine secured 1.5 billion in financing so it looks like the Cira Center South has a really good chance of being built as well. What a nice looking area this will become in the future.

I hope that they really are serious about the Walnut tower. It would also be great if Drexel developed the Bulletin Bldg into one of the 30 fl proposals at the same time.The ultimate orgasm would be Cira II,700 ft of towering glory,making the river view a nice
contrast of the classic granite of the post office and 30th st station and the Cira towers.

Again, it doesn't seem like my images are uploading to this site. I'm hitting the 'image' button, and then copying the photo link into the pop up and for some reason, they just aren't coming through. Summers, maybe you could help guide me here?

Right click on the image in flicker. Click a size, usually I do Medium 800 or Large. Then right click on the image and chose "copy image location"

Then click "insert image" box at the top of this and paste the link there.

There is a difference between a webpage link and the actual image location.

I'm really not understanding what they're doing here. As I noted previously, it looks like they're digging down to the water table (which is quite shallow this close to the river), and it baffles me why. I had expected them to just clear the sod off, flatten the site, and bring in the pile driver...
